Exploring a bit on the other side of the glen. Wanted to take a look at Dun Ormidale, a large iron age fort which looks quite impressive on the maps, and is only about 2 miles from home as the crow flys. Set off on the road, cut across the glen and up into the forest. Good going in the larch but ended up in scratchy spruce. Popped out eventually on beautiful rolling grassy hills around the head of the reservoir. Great running, then up the steep bump to the Dun. Not much to see. Just a vague line of rubble marking the boundary wall. Spectacular views, though, down the Firth of Lorn to Scarba, Jura and Colonsay. Back down to Gallanach campsite and over Druim Mor home.
