Orienteering 1:32:53 [4] ***
19c

Classic distance at Burton Creek. M21 (blue), 9.2 km. Just looking at the control descriptions, it was clear this would be a very different course to yesterday. Some questionable control placings and huge mistakes from everyone! Got horribly cut up by the thorns and made four huge mistakes, but stuck it out and had fun. Routegadget.

Orienteering race 56:51 [4] ***
13c shoes: Olway Tiger, sz 10

'Middle distance' race at Burton Creek. M21 (blue), 7.4 km. Wasn't sure how I'd cope with the mapping after yesterday, but managed to focus well and it went great. A fun course and mostly fast forest. One mistake for a few minutes. Eddie was a few minutes clear. Routegadget.

Orienteering 4:00 [2] **

Micro-O. This was really fun. It was a 15 control course set up in a small area of the campsite with a few trees, boulders and a maze of fences erected just for this. The course had a butterfly loop so could be run head-to-head. First time around, versus Ben, 1:53 (got confused by which trees were mapped). Second time (butterfly reversed), 1:17. Then finally, from memory, 1:07. Jonas did 1:02! Great for thinking speed and punching practice.

Event: Tahoe 3 Day

Orienteering race 17:11 [4]
13c shoes: Olway Tiger, sz 10

Northstar sprint. A 2.2km downhill romp under the ski lift. Hopeless run, with three big mistakes in a vague area. Well off the pace.

Orienteering 30:00 [2]
shoes: Olway Tiger, sz 10

A jog up the start and around the course again with Larry (14:30), then collecting a few controls.

Run (off-road) 38:00 [2]

Along the McKenzie trail from Paradise. Out and back. Great to be running on springy Oregon trails again.
