Orienteering race 1:01:11 [4] ****
18c

District event at Darnaway. Brown, 7.8 km. Very nice terrain (WOC76 classic) - lots of bumps and hollows. It reminded me quite a lot of Telemark. Really enjoyed the course. Could maybe have pushed it a wee bit harder, but it was a day for enjoying it. Two errors for a few minutes each were silly - didn't understand 9 when I eventually found it.

Run (off-road) 1:00:00 [2]

From Glenmore Lodge, up to Ryvoan Bothy and back via Loch Morlich, following the blue posts. An easy jog after Darnaway. Love the pine forests. Spotted yellow posts in the woods - turns out they're a permanent trail-O course. A very slick sign nearby advertised trail-O as an environmentally friendly form of orienteering.

Downhill ski (telemark) 30:00 [1]

A day skiing the lifts at Glencoe. It was quite a bit better than the rumours had led me to believe Scottish skiing would be! Mind you, the locals said it was about the best they'd ever known it. Good snow, a few rocks, and great views across the mountains and Rannoch Moor. Not a tree to be seen. The T-bars did take a bit of getting used to, but it was all fun.

Run (off-road) 30:00 [2]

A sneaky run after skiing, out and back along the West Highland Way, skirting Rannoch Moor. It felt great to dump all the ski gear and put on a pair of running shoes.

Commute. Flat tyre. A completely amazing day here - the view from the office was blue sky, blueish water and white mountains!
