Orienteering race 40:00 [4]

CROC meet at Catherine Creek. 5.3km/280m. DNF. Nice terrain, with some stunning views over the Columbia Gorge, and mostly good running, though rocky. Mal's course took us through a basalt arch and scrambling up a notch behind it - one of the cooler things I've ever done on an O course. The map was a slightly tweaked USGS, so most of the intricate topography was not shown, and navigation was by broad features and powerlines/fences. This would be a great middle distance area with an accurate map. DNF'd because control 11 was misplaced and I never found it. Offered to go and put it in the right place, but was told that would make the course unfair. Hum :).

Hike 1:00:00 [1]

Climbed Dog Mountain with Ben. Nearly 3000' climb. Hiked hard up and jogged down. Really beautiful.

Orienteering 33:00 [4]

ORCA Willamette Park. Orange, 5.8 km. Had prior knowledge of the course, having put half of the controls out, but still had a couple of bobbles! Larry did a nice job with the courses.

Orienteering 30:00 [1]

Setting and recovering controls.

Run (off-road) 1:10:00 [2]

Torrential rain today meant it was a very sloppy run up Extendo and down into the fun trails (this time including Low Rider). With Larry, Ben, Tim and Becky. Legs not sore any more, but not working properly yet!

Mountain bike 30:00 [1]

Easy ride with Jill from the Saddle to Cronemiller Lake and back. Legs still sore from the 50k, but recovering well.
