Surprise, my knee has swollen up and there's a lovely big lump of a Bakers Cyst behind it. Might take a couple of days of icing and anti inflammatories to get on top of this one

Ochils Traverse - celebrating the slight easing of the lockdown rules with an MTB adventure. It was all Jason's crazy idea, but we had to split into two groups to keep to the regs - my excellent companions for the sunny morning run were Ross and Rog.
Quite a long way! The old legs were surprisingly OK; we churned along quite happily over the tops with only some walking (by Ross and I, anyway!) on the steeper bits. Predictably, my knee started to get pretty unhappy, roughly around the time we reached Andrew Gannell Hill, so I had to nurse it home a little from there; thankfully the only significant climbs left by then were Ben Cleuch, and Blairdenon Hill. Altogether, very chuffed to have survived. A jolly outing with grand company.

Active Offseason - Endurance. Basically, grind away in Z2 for 110 minutes. Hm. Not sure I'll manage to follow this programme for long; there are quite a few endurance workouts spread out over the 12 (!) weeks, and life's a bit too short. The good news is that, unlike on the road, my back was fine with being on the bike for this long, partly because of the steady, relaxed movement, and partly because of the extra freedom to release the handlebars, move about and even get in with the thumbs for a bit of self-massage. Maybe I need to practice my balance more, so that I can do all of that out on the road. Guaranteed recipe for disaster.
