Another attempt to link the Wester Cromlix track with the Braes of Doune - Braco track. One dead end (locked gate) then followed the track up onto the moor & into the mist. It rapidly deteriorated and turned into a bog. Then it disappeared altogether. I squelched on for a while, nothing to see but my GPS kept me heading north, but eventually I bottled in the fading light and turned tail. Back through the torrid bog. I'll not be trying that route again.

BMU - Pedalling drills. Easy session, practicing pedalling one-legged and super-high cadence; glad it was short because, although my knee had been OK in the morning, by the time I left work - having been sitting down all day apart from walking up to the shop at lunchtime - it had swollen up. FFS.

Dechmont Law loop from the office. I'd rather be up a hill, but some of us have to work this week. Still, even Livingsbum is pretty enough on a crisp and sunny winter's day. My office spare shoes (2018's Speedgoats) are almost like racing flats with no grip, not ideal! Knee (in support) was sore for the first 10 minutes, which is how it seems to work these days, then it settled into a not-quite-right-but-OK state and survived the 45 minutes without further ado or any post-effort inflammation.

Build Me Up - Zone Benchmarking.
The prime takeaway from this was that I needed to drop my FTP by 5%. Given that I've been injured pretty much continuously since April, that's fair enough; I'll take it.
