Up in Kingussie for the kids to run at the Jamie Stevenson Trophy, so I took the chance to sneak out for a wee "run" up the hill whilst the kids were out orienteering. Paul joined me for the first wee bit, kindly jogging along at a gentle pace whilst I wheezed and staggered along. Needless to say we took an "interesting" route for the first couple of km: orienteers, you know. At 4km I waved goodbye to Paul as he set off up the hill at a noticeably faster pace whilst I crawled around a corner and wept. Then I picked myself up and headed back down via Loch Gynack and over the delightfully rocky Creag Beagh. Desperately slow and very unfit, but it was smashing to get out.
Finally got out after a morning hunched over laptops. Back pretty sore but, hey ho. Had to don a jacket just after Braco but thankfully got home shortly before the rain REALLY started. Big test of the brakes when I came bombing around a bend at 56kph on the way down from Sherrifmuir to see two stationary cars dead ahead - eeek! I'd like to say this this was back to business as usual, but my legs were toast on the climb back up onto the muir. Poor fitness and excessive fatness - lots to do.
Eschewed my lunchtime exercise in favour of a trip across to Hopetoun House to watch the presentations at the Scottish Schools O Fest. Glad I went - family medals!

Ehhhhhhh so my back was pretty sore this morning. Can't think why... taking it easy today! Although not quite as easy as the HR trace would suggest - my watch slipped.
