Note
(rest day)

Pretty stiff and sore today - the knee from the walk/jog, and the back from bashing about on the MTB. Plenty of chores to keep me moving, but just before bed I was hit with some hefty LBP that then kept me awake until 4am, despite caving in and taking a heavy-duty painkiller.

Cycling (MTB) 1:08:38 intensity: (30:24 @0) + (24:10 @1) + (14:04 @2) 16.2 km (14.2 kph) +256m

MTB into Culra bothy
Nice and smooth for most of the way, but the last 3km were rough and tough. TRIMP 62.5.

Running (Hills) 3:44:37 intensity: (28:44 @0) + (1:20:33 @1) + (1:46:26 @2) + (8:54 @3) 18.34 km (12:15 / km) +1224m 9:11 / km
ahr:125 max:145 shoes: Salomon Speedtrak 2017

Gael-charn four. And then there were two.
Hill jog/walk over Carn Dearg, Geal-charn, Aonach Beag and Beinn Eibhinn. Less of a challenge than I had thought - a long way but not too physical. Alas I fell on the wrong side of the "40% chance of cloud-free Munros"; whilst Ben Alder was in the clear all day, my four where in the clag. Oh well, traditional Scottish summer weather. My watch gave out a couple of km before getting back to Culra.
Just one day on Skye to go... TRIMP 273.9.

Cycling (MTB) 56:29 [2] 16.52 km (17.5 kph) +164m
shoes: Specialized Rock Hopper AFS

MTB back from Culra. Easier than on the way out, but legs pretty fragged! TRIMP 55

Running warm up/down 1:10:50 intensity: (6:11 @1) + (14:40 @2) + (34:15 @3) + (15:44 @4) 10.69 km (6:38 / km) +444m 5:29 / km
ahr:142 max:159 shoes: Hoka Speedgoat 2

Easy Blairdenon circuit, tilting at windmills. Thankfully my eyesight is better than Don Quixote's, so, no lance required. Lovely, easy, trot around the western Ochils from the Sheriffmuir Inn. TRIMP 134.5.

Strength training 40:00 [1]

3DBP15. Rusty!
Happy with how my knee has survived the week of orienteering. I always used a knee support when I ran, but would still have expected some swelling up; none at all to report. So, I'll just keep using the support when training, and see how that goes. It does mean that my left vastus medialis is less well developed than my right; no doubt that's a problem in waiting.
My right hamstring started to get niggly the last couple of days - first signs of my back being unhappy and pinching that sciatic nerve - but just one brufen a day and a couple of days' rest and it is OK again, so, really, this is as good a tally of injures as I could have hoped for (apart from the head wound!)
7 PM

Running (Hill run) 1:00:49 intensity: (17 @0) + (6 @1) + (7:12 @2) + (18:16 @3) + (32:26 @4) + (2:32 @5) 10.6 km (5:44 / km) +443m 4:45 / km
ahr:152 max:165 shoes: Hoka Speedgoat 2

Gorgeous evening for a run up Dumyat.
Took a while to get going but once I eventually did the legs felt great. A lovely evening, smashing views from the top. TRIMP 145.6
