LAMM D course, day 2, part 1.
I really hadn't expected to be able to get moving today but had slept well and felt reasonably recovered, so, when the word came that the C and D courses were actually going to have a two-part race today, with a bus along the road, I was confident that we'd make it after all. And, as it turned out, we were actually moving alright. We had a couple of misses in the early clag, dropping maybe 10 minutes in total, which was disconcerting as D4 were starting only 5 minutes after us, but in the end we never saw them and indeed ran away from them, it seems.
The legs were tiring a little before we got to the buses, so we dropped down to the road for the last km, and made the most of the opportunity to rest and dunk in the river before getting on the bus. TRIMP 251.4.

LAMM D course day 2, part 2. Bus drop off to the finish. The breather was great, but did mean that we'd stiffened up a little, and we were both toiling on the last climb up and over the hill, but we were then pretty strong to the finish. Maintained our 3rd place and 1st vets, although the vets prize went to the second placed vets as we couldn't win both that and 3rd overall. Decent run today, only 10 mins down on the fastest, which was gratifying, particuarly given how beaten I felt last night. Jase was a rock all event. TRIMP 96.5.
A brilliant event, and a fitting one for the LAMM to bow out on; we felt privileged to be a part of it. Very sociable afterwards :-).

LAMM on Harris. D course, day1: 20km and 1000m, but we nailed the nav and ran 6km and 400m climb more than advertised, on a hot day! The first two controls were straight up hill, and I was struggling with unexpected lack of energy and the weight of the pack from the off. The next leg was long, and hot, and we had to have a brief stop to try to address a burgeoning blister on my heel; again, unexpected, as this shoe/sock combo normally works perfectly.
Unfortunately I didn't get my fuelling/hydration right, and tailed off massively after the 18km mark, but Jase helped me crawl to the finish, where we found the most amazing mid camp ever. We were surprised to find ourselves in 3rd place and 1st vets, having been going backwards for the last hour and a half. I was definitely the weakest link today - absolutely b*ggered, and drained to a husk - at the finish. It took a lot of tea and food to feel vaguely human again. Bonus muscle-cooling walk into the sea. TRIMP 443.3.

Lunchtime spin - all I had time for. Sweating buckets in the garage - too hot to go for it on Box Hill, but pushed along the flats and got a solid Greater London Loop PB. TRIMP 77.9, avg 251W.

Green course at Braco WEE. Just went for a steady pootle to move the legs. Didn't fancy all the tarmac on the big dogleg to visit 5 & 6 and then come back to 4/7, so I skipped that bit and headed straight to the fort. Nice night. TRIMP 67.5.
Hadn't planned this to be a total rest day, but work, home-alone parenting and a late night for the kids due to activities kinda put paid to any hopes of even a spin on the turbo in the evening.
