Frolic in the forest with Jase, whilst there was some snow to go play in! Some paths, some hack, lots of nice route-finding through the forest, all in a decent layer of soft snow. Jolly fun! TRIMP 81.5.

Oh dear! Comedy bad start when I took a clever route to #1, only to realise when I got there that it was actually #2... #1 was in the middle of the straight line. Yes, that old chestnut. D'oh. Went back for #1 and missed it, of course, then took the (wrong) westward route to #3 and missed that, too. After that I was mostly OK but everyone else was a loop ahead! Oh well. It was a grand course, and a lovely night to be out in the wood, which was in prime condition. Unlike me...!

Whew, this is what happens when you have two relatively easy weeks - completely gubbed by the elliptical today! A bit sore after last night, too, but this was just a rude reminder of the need to keep up the hard sessions. At least I didn't boak :-). TRIMP 77.3.

Noticed a large lump behind my left knee, on the inside, just at the top of the calf (on the tendon). I sometimes get this after exercise. Wonder what it is...

Back to the gloomy grey skies, but at least it was mild enough for cycle shorts! Dug out - and de-seized - old Bertha for a scoot. Wind-assisted on the way out made for a few PRs, but also a long, hard slog all the way back over the Muir from Blackford. Great to be back out on the road on two wheels! TRIMP 138.7.

Escaped to the hills on the final day here, although under a strict time limit and, alas, this was the worst day of the week for going high - 17C, but cloudbase at 1000m. Couldn't go too far and there was no point staying high for a long ridge walk on the Aitana, so, straight up the Ben Nevis of the Costa Blanca it was, then - Puig Campana. Enjoyed the huge grind up the "vertical kilometre", alongside the scree-filled Barranco (think the Great Stone Shoot), but the last 400m were in cloud. Bit sketchy at the top. Dog-legged it out to the 1408 summit, then jogged off the other side and scooted around the western edge of the hill. Legs felt great, but feet suffered in VJs on the stony ground feel bruised now!
