Hanging controls in the gloaming. Only two in the wrong place; sorry Spongey & Donald. It would have been only one had I noticed that my printer had run out of black ink two thirds of the way down my master map...
Courses seemed to be well received, phew. Quietly pleased with my first stab at planning, albeit with the support of a first class mentor (who planned the Black, by the way, before I take the credit unfairly for that!)
My back seized up towards the end of putting out the controls, and got increasingly worse as the day went on, so I was very grateful indeed to the stalwart helpers who collected most of the controls in for us. Thanks folks.
Surprising not hung over after last night, so I felt better than expected for this wee jaunt out on Bertha. Bumped into Louise and the SBC Development Group - twice! - but my shabby old commuter with flat pedals (and me in Aldi's finest bike gear) wouldn't have cut the mustard next to such a fine assortment of machinery :-). Still had a pretty sweet ride and felt as if I was moving well after I'd got going. TRIMP 159.3.
Knee still flakey so it was time to make sweat puddles in the gym. Blimey, Craigswood sports centre has moved up in the world since it was my 'local'. Probably bagged a bunch of steps just walking around the machines!
Straightforward interval session on the cross-trainer; 1 min on, 1 min off, rinse and repeat. TRIMP 47.6.
Gym (Cross-over) 5:00 ahr:133 max:142
Started off to do the usual hard session on the cross-over but my R butt(ock) and ITB seemed to be suffering after last night's extended GG-sponsored pilates self-flagellation, so I made this very short and very easy. TRIMP 7.2.
Gym (Vario) 14:01 ahr:148 max:159
And on to the Vario, with a, um, variable programme for a change. Knee popping a bit :-/. TRIMP 30.2.
Alas no night-O for me - it wasn't going to work out with Jamie's cubs trip, and I am probably too crocked anyway. But, that Mine Woods map, and Fraser's no-holds-barred planning... it would have been great :-)
It has come to this - you know things are bad when *I* end up in the pool. 50 x 25m lengths of front crawling, both in terms of style and pace, but at least I did it non-stop.
