Despite a conservative plan from the start due to a gammy knee - further reduced upon tweaking my ankle after 25 minutes' running, this would have been a OK score of 640, standing as I was by the last control at 55 minutes with only a <3 min easy jog to the finish. But, no, I greedily decided to bag another 20-pointer, and came in 2 minutes late, thus being docked 41 points. Idiot! TRIMP 142.1.

Saturday morning slot. Too icy for back roads, to start at least, so I headed through BrOfA along the Hillfoots to Muckhart, then Glen Devon / Gleneagles, Braco & Kinbuck. On jolly old Bertha today and well dressed, so this was all about the miles, not the time. Hooked up with a pack for a few km to Dollar, then with just one guy to Muckart, otherwise on my own. Too many cars all the way along the Hillfoots.
GPS did the "low battery" switch off thing despite having 50% left, grrr - master reset required.
Legs tired but OK. TRIMP 195.5

Cycling (Road) 48:00 intensity: (20:00 @2) + (28:00 @3) 20.6 km (25.8 kph) +235m

The bit that the GPS missed out. TRIMP 66.

Pretty shoddy performance. Big head torch broke when I tried to switch it on, but Claire kindly loaned me her spare. All was good until I fell over and dropped my map en route to #8; when I got up and looked around, Claire having disappeared over the shoulder, I realised that I couldn't see much at all! Struggled to find 8, 9 and 11-13; missed the ride en route to #14 and let Jon get away; hated the ming en route to #15 but almost caught Jon by #16 and finished just behind him.
Great night to be out, although I wasn't liking the frozen rutted bits (tweaked my ankle about 100yds after starting!) and my R knee started to feel weird on the way to #13.
Ah well! All was made better by a calzone and some good chat at Corrieri's. TRIMP 172.4.

ahr:157 max:170

Usual hill profile. Need to do this more regularly for it to cease being such hard work - and I can get the effort level ramped back up. TRIMP 54.1.

Gym (Cross-over) 10:00 intensity: (23 @1) + (21 @2) + (27 @3) + (3:18 @4) + (5:31 @5)
ahr:158 max:170

Short session with ascending effort level. Last minute very hard work! TRIMP 27.8.

Strength training (Gym) 25:00 [2]

On the machines.
