(rest day)

Sore back today, so just some short bursts of running across Kings Park supporting Eilidh at the Park Run (new PB today!) and then a 20-minute 3.5km +90m jog before lunch with Jamie, to make up for him stropping out of doing the Park Run earlier.

I'd thought of Duke's Pass this morning, if my back was up to it, so set off in long/steady mode.Unfortunately since the LBP was already spiking a bit even before I got to Callander, I decided against committing to the long route. So, I headed south then took the Loch Rusky route over the hill towards Port of Menteith, before turning back to Thornhill and home via Doune. My back seemed to improve after the downhill from Loch Rusky, but the niggles came back from time to time, so we'll see how it is tomorrow. TRIMP 178.7.

Night-O on King's Park - 7.7km of fast & furious technical stuff. Well, it would have been fast if I had been even moderately fit! I was a bit slow at #2, but was generally OK and up with Ben until I make the classic mistake at #11 of running past the control in the middle of a straight line, and lost 3 minutes in going to #12 first. I started blundering a bit after that, with one particularly notable 2.5min error at #17, pulled off-line by the veg. Great fun nonetheless; some hamstring/back pain so I'll probably regret it in the morning.
Weird using a base plate again after having used a thumb compass for the last 15 years!
TRIMP 161.7.
