Orienteering race 33:37 intensity: (11 @0) + (7 @1) + (10 @2) + (1:04 @3) + (10:59 @4) + (21:06 @5) 4.24 km (7:56 / km) +163m 6:39 / km

Scottish Relays. First leg on 11-: B course (3.9km +185m). First leg used to be the leg for me, as I could run but not navigate; alas, no more! Bit of a struggle all of the way, TBH: proof that my performance envelope is still pretty narrow. When pushed out of my comfort zone, things get pretty scrappy. Only one bad mistake, on #7 (the marsh at the top of the hill), which was a good 1 minute blunder, but I was generally a bit rubbish, and too tired to dance over the rocks as I did yesterday. Still, I did a reasonable enough job, in part thanks to Colin E hoovering me back up most times I went AWOL! Nice to be running in a relay again. It'll be even nicer once I'm half fit again. That day will come! TRIMP 106.2.

Running warm up/down 5:00 [2] 0.71 km (7:03 / km) +19m 6:13 / km
shoes: Inov-8 O-Roc 250 (2)

Thought I'd best try a little warm down, at which point it became clear that I'd bashed my knee, my R achilles was very sore, and I was generally in bits. So, good to warm down, then!

Orienteering race 45:58 intensity: (10 @0) + (6 @1) + (8 @2) + (24 @3) + (13:50 @4) + (31:20 @5) 5.58 km (8:14 / km) +223m 6:52 / km

Scottish Champs. M45S: 4.9km +240m. Surprise victory, but this was an area that flattered my performance: 2m30s of errors, occasional hesitations and a general lack of pace were masked by the fact that I like running in this stuff, unlike most. I loved the terrain. Quite chuffed to come in faster than SarahD, who will always be a far better orienteer than I, and indeed I was quicker than everyone else on course 7 bar a banter performance on M21V by a certain Mr Mark Nixon, who put the rest of us firmly in our place. Sadly, thinking there would be no prizes for the short courses, we left to go swimming at Craigendarroch before the prize giving, and I missed out on swagging some cheese. Any prize that you can eat is a good one, in my book. I believe that Ken nabbed a couple of pieces, though, so I will nominate one of those pieces as mine and am glad it went to a good home! TRIMP 149.5.

Cycling (Road) 24:09 [2] 9.8 km (24.3 kph) +69m
shoes: Specialized Globe Vienna Disc

Tootle into Stirling to drop the bike into the shop. When searching for disc pad replacements last week I discovered a 4-year old recall on the bike for replacement front forks - oops!
