Another early session, last chance for the weekend, as I'm home alone with the kids from 10am. Legs never got going this morning at all! Hardly surprising after three days unusual exercise (running!) this week, and because I had no fuel in the tank. Fast today, slow tomorrow - or, fast yesterday, slow today, in this case! TRIMP 125.9.

Too nice a day to sit at a computer for all of it, so I went out for a cheeky cycle even before switching the computer on. Felt a bit tired (not used to early exercise!), but by the time I came back I felt more alive and was boosted by the mild headwind turning into a mind tailwind. Nearly got knocked off on the road back from Doune when some muppet overtook me despite a car coming in the opposite direction and almost touched me with their wing mirror. Pillock. TRIMP 129.6.

Green - 5.7km. Tough, physically and technically! Legs pretty lifeless to start and completely knackered by the end - serves me right for trying two sessions in one day. Generally OK navigationally but several bananas, an overshoot, a chicken-out of the gorse and over 3 minutes lost trying to find the two controls in the gorse. Annoyed about that!
Spent most of the course running with people. Caught and passed Neil K only for him to catch me again in the gorse. Took a while to get away, only to then catch up Dixie. Took quite a while to get away from him - only really once I got into the more open wood, at which point Will caught me up and I tried not to let him get away TOO quickly - hung on for just a couple, though as I was goosed by then. Great evening to be out on a lovely area. TRIMP 130.5.

Lovely afternoon, couldn't resist getting out despite lingering phlegm. Decided to pootle up Dumyat, but from the top (meadow) car park to keep it short - out along the top main path, back along the ridge. Steady pace, and achieved the main goal of running all the way. No niggles. Yet! TRIMP 75.2.
