An unexpected but welcome opportunity to get out whilst the kids were being entertained by J&J at Hannah's party. Pretty done in by the morning's party at Kidz World, but I dragged myself out. Thought I just had time to attempt the Torrie return route (not enough for the circuit) but made two mistakes: 1 - 1h20 is the best time I've done it in, not the norm; and 2 - I am the very antithesis of a butcher's dog, fitness wise, at the moment. Ran out of steam on the return and the drag back from Doune was just that. Revived by coffee and fine scones at 3 Symonfield. TRIMP 211.6.

Token exercise effort after three days of decorating and before two days of being Home-Alone-Dad. Slow to Braco, but the headwind made for a good descent from the top of Sherrifmuir back to Dunblane (just 6s off my road bike PB, and 10th on Garmin Connect for that segment; not bad for a not-a-bike). Sore left arm (decorator's elbow) and right shoulder (compensating for the elbow!). Bucket of bolts! TRIMP 148.8.

I went to bed with a sniffle and sore throat, and woke up with a head cold, but it was too nice a day to not venture out for some air at lunchtime. So: a recovery cycle from the office. I found another freshly surfaced, billiard table smooth, country road; WL council clearly had some use-it-or-lose-it cash left in the roads budget at the end of the last financial year! TRIMP 92.8.
