First time since Wednesday night I've felt up to doing anything. Still coughing, just not as badly. Bertha needed some exercise too, it's been a while. Steady out to Braco, rediscovering the cycling muscles; felt OK enough to push on the climb up onto Sherrifmuir (only 30s down on PB on this bit), then a good pace downhill. Decent enough time, just 50s down on Bertha PB. Coughing fit afterwards - again, not as bad as Wednesday but still not great. TRIMP 121.4.

(sick)

Saturday morning slot. Went back to bed.

Managed a slow afternoon trundle with B and the kids up the hill behind Vane Farm RSPB reserve. Grand view of Loch Leven and the Lomonds; East Lomond poking out of a cloudbank. Eilidh did really well on the hill once she'd got over her strop at the start.

Nipped down to Run4It! in Bridge of Allan at lunchtime to pick up my new roadies. Nearly took out the shop window when parking the Elliptigo - whoops, sorry, Sarah. :-)
TRIMP 16.9.

Elliptigo 19:17 intensity: (16 @0) + (34 @1) + (3:16 @2) + (9:02 @3) + (6:09 @4) 6.0 km (18.7 kph) +133m

...and back up the Old Glen Road. Mucky. Bumped into GG, who looked like he'd been having fun mud-wrestling his way around the Gathering Stane and Kippenrait glen. Sounds like tonight's race will be completely bonkers. Ace.
TRIMP 39.0.

Orienteering race 54:13 intensity: (21 @0) + (4 @1) + (1:12 @2) + (6:07 @3) + (41:14 @4) + (5:15 @5) 8.02 km (6:46 / km) +36m 6:37 / km

Bonkers FVO Night race at Braco, 35 controls over 3 maps (all on one side of A4), more forks than a banquet hall and more loops than the Corkscrew at Alton Towers. Great fun.
Sadly, absolutely no zip in the mincing legs tonight, set into a steady trudge and pretty much stayed there. I was with Jase until I fluffed #5, then largely with Fi until I stuffed up #14 big time - looking back at the trace I dumped the best part of 4 minutes! Game over. On my onio thereafter, so I inevitably slowed down a bit. No drastic errors after that so happy enough; pretty much all my ailing lungs could cope with though. I did my best to cough them up after finishing; Rosco asked if I was going to expire. Not quite yet.
Great soup and chat afterwards at Rog & Dawn's. In between the coughs (sorry everyone!).
TRIMP 149.5.

Note
(rest day)

Vertebrae a bit tweaky after yesterday's limited road work. Too be expected, but probably not helped by the old shoes... oh, there's a sale on at Run4It! How convenient.

Gorgeous lunchtime sunshine, managed a short run to get away from the desk. Mostly steady, but threw in a couple of short efforts because my legs felt like speeding up. Sadly my lungs didn't agree, and I spent quite a bit of time coughing and hacking outside the office afterwards - but it was nice to feel a little more sprighty again.
TRIMP 77.4.
