SOL3, Clunie - M40S (Blue) 5.8/320.
Moving along OK but absolutely rubbish navigation. No plan to execute; point, run and hope! Lost confidence at several points and stopped short, and terrible in/near the circle. More a hill run than orienteering. I finally got it together a little on the last little loop, but I'd already thrown away 8-10 minutes on schoolboy errors. Heck, no, all the schoolboys beat me - let's call them punterisms instead!
Happy enough to be moving OK, and it was a nice area, although the steep descents took their toll on my fragile back and I was getting the tell-tale R hamstring and L shoulder pains at the end, letting me know that I was going to have to spend the rest of the day popping pills and stretching/massaging etc. etc. Very glad to cadge a lift from Gerry back along the road, what a nice man!

Well, this was a mistake. Having been either driving or sitting on a ferry all day, travelling to Londonderry, and with a little time to kill before a networking event, I went for a short run. Unfortunately, I could only find hard surfaces to run on. I moved along OK, but as the evening wore on I became progressively crippled, had a terrible night's sleep, and was really struggling on Tuesday morning. I've had a bad back ever since (it's now Friday). I can't run on roads, period. I think that I'd begun to believe my own press... d'oh. TRIMP 78.3.
