We were invited to Jen and Pascal's marvellous Bo'Ness Arch-O and BBQ, so it seemed like a good opportunity for a cycle ride there, where I could throw the bike in the back of the truck and have a couple of lemonades whilst B went for a run. The gusty cross- and head-winds made sure that I earned my burger, expertly cindered by Pascal.

Raining out, but I didn't fancy the gym, so I braved my first run since the Scottish Champs. In the mud, up to the Stane and back. Very enjoyable it was too. Slow, but then I don't train, so that's to be expected. Some LBP but no hamstring issues so, by my standards, nae bad, and it was grand to be running. Great conditions for it, too - really!
Spent as much time stretching before and aft as I did running...

Wee saunter out to see how the legs are after yesterday, and to fully deplete the battery as per the instructions re initial conditioning. I got 62.5km out of this charge (at an average of 32.1kph), much better than the last charge and in line with what I was hoping for. Phew! Legs felt fine too, reckon I just ran out of my own fuel yesterday.

Forecast good, so the much anticipated test cycle to work from home on eBertha was on the cards. Lovely morning, and we barrelled along nicely, taking the high road up over Shieldhill and Avonbridge, only to go onto reserve mode by Torphichen and run out of juice altogether by Bathgate, with 7km to go! Clearly the "full" battery had depleted a fair bit during the near three weeks of inactivity. Still, eBertha cycles well enough without assistance, just a little more slowly, and I completed the trek to the office still some 20 minutes inside the record. 1h40 is definitely achievable.

E-cycling (Road) 1:26:19 intensity: (16:07 @1) + (42:36 @2) + (26:04 @3) + (1:32 @4) 45.26 km (31.5 kph) +275m

I wasn't really expecting to get all the way back home today, and thus it proved, my legs running out of steam by Stirling, where I fortuitously leapt onto a late-running train by the skin of my teeth, and was whisked briskly to Dunblane, tiredly munching the emergency choc bar that I should have eaten 10km earlier!
Some power delivery issues en route, had to stop twice to try to work out what was going on, still not sure I know what the problem was. Hmm. Electrical gremlins. Generally took this cycle quite a lot more easily than this morning's outward journey, but was only slightly slower - and still had 2/5 bars left of charge, so the battery will definitely last the full distance.

Crawled back up the road from the train station, slightly revived after the 10 minute rest and bolted chocolate. Tired but chuffed.
