Dank, drizzly day, but no wind (hooray!) so I dug Bertha out of cold storage and got out on two wheels. I was feeling a tad more energetic today, so I'm on the mend, at last - HR still high, but then I'm also fantastically unfit!

Headed out on the Thornhill "lollipop" route. As per the last couple of times I've ventured out on this route, I started to die when I hit Doune on the way back; a quick refuel helped, but my legs just aren't used to 90+ mins of effort. Yet.

Easy walk out up to the steading then on towards the Gathering Stane. With B and the kids at first, then transferred Eilidh across to B and headed off towards the Stane whilst they went back. Wandered up and down rides and through bits of forest that I've never taken the time to visit before. Very glad of the wellies!

Gym (Cross-trainer) 20:00 intensity: (1:13 @1) + (1:03 @2) + (4:13 @3) + (12:31 @4) + (1:00 @5) 4.36 km (4:35 / km)
ahr:151 max:168 (injured) (sick)

First exercise in two weeks, and the first time since succumbing to a grotty head cold on the 30th December that I've felt like training at all. Back sore after sitting at a desk for two days, again - need to sort out a standing desk.

Set off at a reasonable pace on the X-T, legs felt a bit dead and I was gasping a little, but otherwise all was OK. After a bit I felt tightness across my chest and realised that my HR was far too high for the amount of effort being expended - clearly, I'm not quite over the cold yet! Scaled back the effort significantly, but the HR stayed pretty high, so I cut things short at 20 mins and moved across to another machine.

TRIMP 50.2

Gym (Cross-trainer) 20:01 intensity: (19 @1) + (1:54 @2) + (1:23 @3) + (15:52 @4) + (33 @5) 3.85 km (5:12 / km)
ahr:153 max:167 (injured) (sick)

20 minutes on the cross-ramp, at a lower level of intensity. HR stubbornly high. TRIMP 49.7

Stretching 15:00 [1]
(injured) (sick)

Stretching and a few core exercises.
