Late run at the end of a glorious day, all of which was spent in DIY Dad mode in the garden (3+ hours mowing, logging and jungle strimming) and up a ladder clearing out and adjusting gutters. I was feeling pretty done in but when Janine jogged past when I was just finishing off on the garage roof, I felt inspired to crawl out, even if just for a short jaunt.

Felt very creaky to start, lots of aches and pains, but I gradually loosened off and after a bit started to feel much looser, and was almost bouncy towards the end. Run justified.

Making up for yesterday - a "long" lunchtime run in Livingston, a figure of 8 from the Alba Campus up to the top of the town (Dechmont Law) and back. Slightly more pleasant route choices than when I last did this sort of run in February, and at almost exactly the same pace, which means that I am just as unfit now as I was then! Given how crappy my training has been this year, though, that can only be a positive thing.

Late, after dinner, and tired after a long day - but keen to get out. Feeling a bit gippy again so kept the pace easy and the distance short. Still not over this bad tum thing!

Note

Chiropractor today.

Lower back is good! Upper back/neck/arm needed work - whereas last time he got nothing out of them, today he got a worrying series of crunches. I think I'll feel "worked on" for the next couple of days... hopefully it'll resolve the problem, though.

Cycling (Road) 56:35 intensity: (3:15 @1) + (33:09 @2) + (18:51 @3) + (50 @4) + (30 @5) 26.57 km (28.2 kph) +218m
ahr:134 max:149

A bit sore from the chiropractor but desperate to get out, so I opted for a gentle cycle - out to Braco and back (not up onto Sherrifmuir - didn't fancy the back stress of the climb, nor the descent down the wet steep road with slick tyres on). Turned along Auchinlay Road on the way back for a bit of variety. Got very wet. Neck/shoulder a bit tweaky afterwards. Hmmm.

Lunchtime run from the Alba - moving out at the end of the month, so not many more opportunities! Muirieston Water loop. Calves v tight to start, eased a little when I got onto the soft stuff in Wilderness Wood. Felt good so upped the pace a little and ended up with a pretty decent run. Neck / R arm still sore, all that sitting on a plane last week didn't help; at chiro again tomorrow.
