(rest day)

Ikea and visiting friends day. Lots of bouncing up and down on a large trampoline, but I didn't have my HR strap on.

Time to take a look at control sites for our WEE at Doune Ponds - better late than never. Loped easily around the area, ticking off sites and veg, pleasantly surprised by the number and variety of sites and route choices. Should be fun.
Did my usual "stop and forget to restart" my GPS so the data is all cock-eyed.

Stopped off on the way home and went for a nice wee run around Sauchie Crags. Lovely bright sunshine after heavy showers made it fairly irresistible, although not the best choice for running with road shoes! Slithered along at a steady/easy pace anyway. Breezy. Thigh just a bit sore now, will be fine tomorrow.

I got out of my meeting in Callander a little early, so it seemed rude not to go and run around the Crags. I was pretty slow but ground my way up to the top without stopping. Definitely an "eyeballs IN" descent off the other side; a bit too mucky and slippery for my old RocLite soles. I turned left at the road and crossed the Keltie Burn, then ran down the east side to Bracklinn Falls. Path quite overgrown in places and sadly the new bridge isn't ready yet, so I had to wade across the river; I slipped whilst crossing the river bed and whanged my thigh off a large rock. Ouch ouch ouch! (Now all swollen and sore.) Once I'd waded across my stride was clearly being affected by the sore thigh, so I was glad to accidentally miss out the loop with Dixie's hard climb!

FVO posse run from J&J's. Pretty much a standard Gathering Stane run for me, although clockwise rather than anti, plus a slight bit of extra track and an extra wee loop of Dykedale Wood at the end. Nice easy pace for banter. Grand craic, soup, bread & cakes at J&J's afterwards.
