Hangover-clearing dander up the local fell near Hudscales, north of Back o' Skiddaw, with stag JohnE and my fellow supporters, into the teeth of a howling gale with driving rain for a bit of extra spice. The very definition of the word "refreshing".

Well, it was sort of exercise... And it was lots of fun :-)
Caves near Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Caution: "You will get wet on this ride".

Work is mad busy... it's really difficult to get out at the moment, but I couldn't let a third day in a row pass without crawling away from my desk for some exercise. I set off intending to just clear my head and stretch my legs, but after loosening off in the first few minutes I decided that I felt good and upped the pace to a respectable level. Once this work surge is over need to start whittling this run back down to the 40 minute mark.

Note
(rest day)

A "Work at home" day should be a "nice long lunchtime run" day, but not at the moment - too much to do. R knee a bit tweaky anyway, so maybe a wee rest was required. I did at least walk to and from the nursery in the morning and the evening - and even tried a bit of barefoot running in my Five Fingers shoes (or, as Jamie calls them, my "Monkey Feet"). Hmm, a rather odd sensation, but they're amazingly comfortable to walk around in, so I guess that I just need to try a bit further each time.

Lunchtime recovery run from the Alba Centre, to help keep things mobile after yesterday's exertions. Legs a bit tired but surprisingly ache-free; happy about that! My back appreciated the break from the desk too, I think that all of the recent extra hours being hunched in front of a computer have been the main cause of the lower lumbar pain. We're not designed to sit down for 10 hours a day, day after day... we should be out running!
