Running (Trail) 50:57 [3] 9.85 km (5:10 / km) +190m 4:43 / km
ahr:144 max:162 shoes: Inov8 RocLite 305

Set off in the dusk, after a day spent screwing together and lifting flat-pack furniture. Maybe that was why my lower back was seriously twingey; left knee a bit wonky too, hmmm. Even worse afterwards, do'h! Oh well, I'm only going to be sitting on trains, planes and automobiles for the next five days, starting at 4am tomorrow urrrgghh

Golf Course, Darn Path, BrOfA, Keir, home along the road (getting too dark by then to attempt any more slithering about on murky mucky trails).

Event: Braids XC

Gym (Cross-trainer) 45:00 [4] 9.95 km (4:31 / km)
ahr:151 max:174

Well, so much for doing the Braids XC... while others were slogging their way around that gorgeous mudfest I was struggling towards the IKEA checkouts. Joy. Dark by the time we got home, so I headed to the gym, where I proceed to give the cross-trainer a damn good thrashing. I think I nearly killed it. This was probably my most rabid X-T workout ever... and that's saying something, ask Lard. Felt much better for it.

Strength training 15:00 [2]

Running (Easy) 38:38 [3] 8.05 km (4:48 / km) +65m 4:37 / km
ahr:151 max:160

Meant to be a gentle leg-stretch before racing tomorrow, but, geez, my thighs were sore. Not used to pounding pavements! Reckon I'll need to dig out a steak tenderiser tonight to have any hope of putting in any sort of showing at the Braids.

Running (Road) 51:17 [3] 10.93 km (4:42 / km) +155m 4:23 / km
ahr:155 max:165 shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 11

Hooray, a run! I ran back to Dunblane from Springkerse after dropping off the hire car. A more direct route for the return journey; thighs still sore from Monday! 11 hours in the car on the previous two days wouldn't have helped that, either. Pretty slow, really. No foot numbness, though - good. Routed via Cornton and the Old Glen Road.

Note
(rest day)

More meetings & travelling, I am a slave to the M6.

Note
(rest day)

Traveling to Manchester, visit potential customer, go to dinner with existing customer - no time to run. Terminal toothache too, stupid dentist!!

Running (Road) 54:12 intensity: (24:12 @3) + (30:00 @4) 12.19 km (4:27 / km) +110m 4:15 / km
ahr:154 max:164 shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 11

Steady/strong lunchtime run from home to the Arnold Clark garage at Springkerse Industrial Estate, from where I was collecting a hire car. Ran via Old Glen Road, the Uni (quite hard until this point), Cambuskenneth (slowing) and Riverside (slow!). Felt good to start, gradually tired and foot started to numb from 45mins on. Decent enough exercise though. Cold, crisp day - full leggings, hat & gloves required.

Strength training (Pilates) 40:00 [2]

The professional group leader was away so the poor FVO'ers paid their hard-earned £2 and got me instead, bwoaaahahahahahahaaaaa!!!
I think I might have gone on a bit too long...
(includes stretching at the end of circuits)

Strength training (Circuits) 30:00 [3]

Slight ramp up to 1x 35/10 this evening, then a more intense 1x 20/5, but in reverse order. I'm a firm believer in the body's ability to adapt to patterns - even complex ones - and you've got to keep it guessing to keep improving.
