Almost impossibly, an even BETTER day for my long-awaited ascent of the jewel in Knoydart's crown: Ladhar Bheinn. One of the most impressive hills I've ever clambered up. No point describing it; go and see for yourself! I'd started early again, but it was hot work long before midday; the long walk back was pretty draining. The blister I'd been feeling growing on my right achilles went splat in a very painful way with about 3km to go. Except - it didn't look that bad... hmmm.

265 down, 19 to go!

After a week off with a bad back it was touch and go whether things would hold together on my long-planned trip to Knoydart, but with a weather forecast to dream about it was worth the risk of being stranded in Inverie for the weekend. And how glad I am I went.

Today: Luinne Bheinn and Meall Buidhe. Wonderful hills on a wonderful day. Stunning views all around, but I had to keep my eyes on my feet a lot of the time whilst traversing around the head of Coire Odhair, which has to be one of the roughest places in Scotland.
