Just time for a wee jog from Dad's around Murlough. An icy wind again, but lovely and warm in the sunshine when sheltered. Legs stiff & tired from yesterday - should have stretched off.

At last a chance to get out for a run - from my Dad's in Dundrum, in the morning before the wedding. I wanted to go for a long easy session, to do a little touring around old haunts, so that's what I did. The wind was cold and biting, but the sun was warm. I'd forgotten how lovely the trails are out over Murlough, through the dunes; think Magilligan but much more runnable. I also ran for a couple of miles along the beach towards Newcastle, with the Mourne Mountains filling up the view - magic. A dusting of fresh snow on the top of Donard; it was cold!
I headed back into Dundrum and up Shague hill, just as steep as ever, to catch a view back over the village to see just how much the new housing developments have destroyed the old place. It's a shame. I finished off with a visit to the Castle, one last view of the bay and the Mournes before a well-earned cup of tea and some toast.
A miserable day, and howling winds in Livi, but I should have tried harder to get away from my desk even if only for half an hour. As it was I was working hard to get stuff done before heading home to pack for tomorrow's journey.

I decided that I was feeling well enough to try a tentative jog, my first exercise in 8 days. New shoes on, I bounded out, and for the first, oooh, 500m I felt really bouncy. Then my legs realised that they had forgotten what this running thing was all about. Well, I soldiered on, and enjoyed it, but my tum was still a bit gloppy.
Hooray, at last feeling vaguely human. Just bread and water today though.
On the plus side - the last time my scales read <64kg when I stood on them was 5 years ago...
