Orienteering 32:32 [3] *** 4.92 km (6:37 / km) +60m 6:14 / km
ahr:140 max:153 shoes: Silva K80 dobs

A wee course at Moor of Alvie. Enjoyed it, although really hobbling, particularly on the tarmac in Kincraig. Missed all the three conrtrols in the vague stuff near the end.

Orienteering 18:34 [3] *** 2.52 km (7:22 / km) +40m 6:50 / km

Final session of the training weekend - a clock relay, with Jase and Rona. A bit apprehensive about it before starting (thinking I'd struggle to find the controls in the vague stuff, never mind then pick it up and put it in the right place), but did OK and enjoyed it. Ankle though - sigh.

Orienteering 10:11 [3] *** 1.53 km (6:39 / km) +10m 6:27 / km
ahr:142 max:153 shoes: Silva K80 dobs

First session of the FVO training weekend - a contour training exercise, with expert assistance from Jase. Lovely bit of forest, running along OK, lots to do on my navigation though.

Orienteering 14:32 [2] **** 1.53 km (9:30 / km) +20m 8:55 / km
ahr:142 max:153 shoes: Silva K80 dobs

Line-O. I'm useless at this - don't stay in contact with the map enough.

Orienteering 19:55 [3] *** 2.29 km (8:42 / km) +25m 8:15 / km
ahr:142 max:157 shoes: Silva K80 dobs

Talk-O, with Brian B as my chat-mate. Was quite happy until he deliberately led me offline too fast for me to be able to keep up, and then got me to relocate - d'oh. I also jarred my left ankle, and that old familar pain happened; sh*te. I'd conned myself into thinking that the piece of floating bone would have been reabsorbed by now.

Orienteering 23:22 [3] *** 2.93 km (7:58 / km) +80m 7:01 / km
ahr:147 max:162 shoes: Silva K80 dobs

Contour training at Revack in the afternoon. Ankle sore - not moving well. Was navigating OK until I stopped for a couple of mins at #5 to let Becky C get away; I then forgot to re-engage my brain and blew the next couple of controls.

Orienteering 33:03 [3] **** 3.83 km (8:38 / km) +100m 7:38 / km
ahr:150 max:165 shoes: Silva K80 dobs

Short course at Revack. Held together OK until near the end, although exacerbated my ankle injury, missed, missed again then had a sh*t route-choice to the penultimate control, hung up in heavy brash. Lovely forest though.

Running warm up/down 11:27 [2] 1.6 km (7:09 / km) +60m 6:02 / km
ahr:137 shoes: Asics Gel Landreth 3

Jogging from Ballencrieff Rd car park to the start of tonight's hill rep session - stop to admire the new sculpture en route not counted :-)

Intervals hills 19:27 [5] 3.15 km (6:10 / km) +151m 4:59 / km
ahr:154 max:175 shoes: Asics Gel Landreth 3

Rather appallingly - my first hill rep session since this time last year.

Short sharp hills tonight - 12 x roughly 30s (averaging 26s, but a couple at 25s and a 24s at the end). Reasonably happy with this, given the disastrous winter of (non-)training. I was hanging onto Jon's coat tails every rep, he took off like a scalded cat and used those long legs to bounce up the hills. My wee pins couldn't compete. I started gradually pulling him back on the last few and nipped past on the very last rep, but then I've had an easy week! Felt pretty fresh as a result. Nice to actually be trying to run hard for a change.

Running warm up/down 11:11 [2] 1.74 km (6:26 / km) +25m 6:00 / km
ahr:133 max:143 shoes: Asics Gel Landreth 3

Jogged back to Ballencrieff Rd. Should probably have gone for a longer warm down but it's off to the flicks 2nite - no time to dally!

Running (Terrain) 52:18 [3] 9.02 km (5:48 / km) +230m 5:09 / km
ahr:147 max:161 shoes: Walsh PB Extremes

Another steady run - just trying to ease back into getting some miles in. Lots of lovely sloppery mud today; splashed up to the Gathering Stane, then slithered all the way down along the wall leading NW from the top, just to see where it went. Nowhere, really, but it was an enjoyable explore all the same. Found some really boggy tussocky glop for my troubles... mmm.

Running (Easy run) 49:31 intensity: (25:00 @2) + (24:31 @3) 9.54 km (5:11 / km) +125m 4:52 / km
ahr:148 max:162 shoes: Asics Gel Landreth 3

First run in a week; it felt like the first in a year. I've never been ill for such a long time! Hopefully I've got it beat now... but 'beat' is how I felt. Still - it was just lovely to get out and breathe that fresh air, and soak in the gorgeous cystal clear views of the snowy hills.
