Note

Windy today so a 2h30 coastal yomp down by Lochaline, which really is the a**e end of nowhere - saying something by Ardgour standards. Many porpoises spotted by spotter Beccy, along with so many warblers I was getting earache, but once again I was revived by an excellent tea shop. I will be getting cake and coffee withdrawal symptoms from tomorrow.

Note

Stunning day. Took the wee boat from Arisaig to the Isle of Eigg, where we had 4h30, plenty of time to walk up the Sgurr, have a picnic/snooze en route, and then a big slab of cake with coffee in the community cafe. Fantastic views of Rum, Skye and the mainland - tried to spot Ken on Knoydart through my bins, but I needed a wee big more magnification (it was clear enough, though). Saw seals, puffins, shearwaters and razorbills on the boat - but still no otters. Beccy is getting frustrated. Me, I'm just getting a tan.

Note

A mixed weather bag today so we opted for the 6 mile walk to the Singing Sands. They must have had a sore throat because they weren't saying much. No otters came out to play either, poor B is starting to get otter spotter frustration.

Note

Rain was due to arrive at midday, so we just went for a quick 5 mile / 350m walk up the hill behind Glenborrodale. We were already in the tea shop at the Ardnamurchan Wildlife Centre when the rain came. Thankfully it had passed through by the time we headed off on the 2 mile walk to the pub for our evening meal!

Note

Oh dear - Beccy's sore side kept her awake much of the night. Then we were brought crashing awake when the bed broke! No, sadly, that's not as the result of any "training" - it was because I moved it to get the cot in the room :-).
Drove out to Ardnamurchan Pt, stopping en-route for a 2hr walk up Beinn na Seilg, an amazing viewpoint. Rum, Eigg and Skye were jewels in the azure sea. We could also see all the way to Staffa.
Another wee 1hr walk from Portuairk to the incredible white sands of Sanna Bay.

Note

Shattered, so made it a nice easy day. Gorgeous weather. Drove 10 mins to Castle Tioram - amazing setting - and walked around the Silver Walk and over the Three tarns walk to make it a 2hr30 loop. B's side troubling her, so a fairly gentle stroll - although Jamie seems awfully heavy in the backpack!
