Running (Gentle recovery) 32:00 [1] 4.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
ahr:138 shoes: Asics GT-2120 road

Just a quick, sore, hobble around the streets in Sonoma, in wine country. Buttocks pretty wrecked after the hard, steep, road on Friday. Also, ahem, perhaps a bit too much of the local produce last night...

Running hills 37:30 [3] 4.5 mi (8:20 / mi)
ahr:149 max:168 shoes: Asics GT-2120 road

Pressed for time, but managed a quick jaunt up the hills behind Saratoga. 25 mins straight up a very steep road - achilles survived! - with great views across Silicon Valley to the hills on the east side of Fremont. Saw the bay too. Cool place.

Gym (Cardio) 45:00 [2] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
ahr:143 shoes: Asics GT-2120 road

Feeling jaded after arriving in San Jose - travelling is catching up with me - so I just did an easy session on the cross-trainer.

Running tempo (Trail run) 41:50 [2] 5.5 mi (7:36 / mi)
ahr:150 shoes: Asics GT-2120 road

Pre-breakfast run on the dirt tracks in Torrey Pines state park, and (briefly) along the beach alongside those big ol' Pacific rollers. Felt pretty good. And heel OK afterwards. Yeeesssssss

Strength training 30:00 [2]

In the hotel gym post-run

Gym (Cardio) 30:00 [3]
ahr:156 shoes: Asics GT-2120 road

6am in the hotel gym on the cross-trainer. Felt good, so pushed hard.

Machines in the hotel gym

Running 51:00 [2] 6.5 mi (7:51 / mi)
ahr:150 shoes: Asics GT-2120 road

Ran from the hotel to Torrey Pines State Park, and did a couple of the trails there. Some hard surface and relatively hard, sandy trails, rolling terrain. Steady pace, not pushing too hard; heel swollen afterwards but not too painful.
