Windy. In my favour out to Braco, but against on the way back, not helped buy a squall dashing through and temporarily turning the headwind into a gale! Ankle seems OK. TRIMP 118.3.

Lunchtime spin out west from the office. Wee diversions off the standard route to the wind farm at the top of the hill and then also up to Harburn, but the road was closed halfway along. Strong w'ly made for hard work! TRIMP 115.2.

In the office all day today, refitting the server room, but when the construction shift transitioned to the wiring shift I sloped off for a quick cycle. Nice spin out, marred only at the end when I ran over a dog (it nearly made me fall off, but I tried desperately to avoid it and felt terrible when I hit it) and my GPS watch strap fell to bits. Just caught the watch before it fell, phew. TRIMP 125.3.

First time out all week, just a short session to test the ankle's mobility now that the swelling/bruising has largely dissipated. Seems OK for non-impact work, now, at least. Nice to get out again! TRIMP 91.4.

SOSOL at Muirkirk. Brown - 9km. Turned up at 11 to find out that there were no maps left, not even a White course. I should have learnt my lesson, this happened the last time I went to a SOSOL without pre-entering. What happened to SOSOLs being inclusive, open for people to turn up on the day and have a go? If this is what 'optional' pre-entry means, bring back the old days.
Anyway. I eventually got a run, thanks to Simon from Clyde - cheers for the map, good sir. Although I wish I'd had a Blue map instead! The Blue was basically the Brown without the really sh*tty bits. Which were really sh*tty. Did my right ankle after about 9km (recovered) and again about 150m from the finish (sod it). Maybe if I did some running training my ankles might not be made of cheese... Easy-steady spin out in my Saturday morning exercise slot. Breezed along to Thornhill but the route back into Stirling - via Coldoch Road (new to me!) and Chalmerston Road - were straight into the teeth of a strong headwind. Breezed back to BrOfA and considered the B824 back to Doune, but I needed to get home for lunch duties. All good, though - my legs were fine and my back is getting more used to the new bike. Time-restricted dash out before heading out with the kids later - not even enough time to make it to Braco before turning (the headwind didn't help). Saw Gary when leaving Dunblane looking very smooth on his speed machine whilst I toiled in the opposite direction. TRIMP 102.2.

Lunchtime cycle. Legs a little stuffy after yesterday's hill walk so I just tootled along on the way out to Blackford. Made decent enough progress back over the Muir and the wind was favourable for a good descent time, so I went for it, but was still half a minute down on my PB on the Elliptigo! :). Decent overall time for the ride, too. TRIMP 144.4.

Dragged the kids up Schiehallion. Moaning all the way up but we got there. Good effort for little legs, their first self-powered Munro bag. The sun came out before we got to the top - great views, but no sun cream... ouch. Total time (walking and stopping) a little under six hours.

Back sore after yesterday so I took the chance of a short run on bouncy ground to try to help settle it down. Ochlochy Park, GC, then up the steep path to Pisgah, up to the wood and home. Tried quite hard on the hill, although I'm rubbish at climbing these days! Path from the top of the hill to Pisgah totally trashed by MTBs :-(. TRIMP 86.9.

Cycled from home to Vane Farm to catch up with the rest of the family who were helping at the Hen Harrier day. Nice route, a bit of a headwind all the way from Gleneagles to Yetts o' Muckhart, but that's nearly always the case. Stopped at 1h30 to stretch my back. Had been considering the return trip but the rain came in and saved me from myself. Early days, yet - I'll never be a proper cyclist but if I can manage a few hours in the saddle I'll be happy, and so far so good on the new bike. TRIMP 183.1.

Braco-Greenloaning-Sherrifmuir. Shake out to try out the SPDs and my lovely new shoes! Rolling along very nicely, so I pushed it up the hill and made very good time. On for a great sub-59 PB (first time under the hour!) only to lose best part of a minute hopping up and down pavements and crossing part-laid tarmac where the road had been closed just coming into Dunblane. Dang! Still a good PB. TRIMP 138.8.
