Elliptigo turbo pyramid session, with a minor gap in the warm up whilst I fixed the turbo's variable magnet cable. Bit technical for me. Good session. TRIMP 66.3.

Shortest of short runs to test out my knee, which is still noticeably larger than the other one. Yes, I know, but it didn't seem to make it any worse. He said with his eyes clamped shut. HR through the roof - could barely have gone any faster if I'd tried, either... :-(. TRIMP 45.8.
Indoors on the Elliptigo. Knee still very limited in motion but after three days of travel and business meals I needed to do something, and something I could bail from if necessary. Desperately unfit! TRIMP 73.7
Knee sore overnight and stiff and swollen in the morning. So, twice around a tough Yellow course at the Scottish Score Champs should help, then, shouldn't it? No.
Cheesed off with this. No real progress despite 3 weeks' rest as advised.

Thought I'd try a short run on the Elliptigo to see if my knee is getting any better. Seemed OK after this but after shadowing at the club champs later it was sore/swollen and only ice & drugs got me through the dinner dance. TRIMP 96.3.
Knee still sore, calf too, knee caving if I try to straighten it - and there was a lump behind the knee when I woke up this morning and tried to straighten it, so, it's off to the doctor for me.
Note (injured)
...and that's me doing nothing for the next month. G-reat.
Back fine! L knee fine! R knee stiff and a bit sore (can't bend it into a seiza position, for example) and R calf very tight despite rolling - but two out of three ain't bad.
In other news, the latest - bumper - edition of CompassStrop landed today. My huge surprise and unalloyed joy at scoring a mention in Marcus' list of inspiring people in FVO was only slightly tempered by Beccy laughing so hard that she nearly p***ed herself.

Urban race, Cumbernauld - M Vet (5.5km).
Really not expecting much from this, given that I am desperately unfit, don't train to run on roads any more (heck, don't train, let's face it), and am currently struggling with bad knees. R knee stiff from yesterday. So, I set off with that taped, compression bandages on both knees, and compression socks. Not matching, of course. Talking to Steve W at the start, though, who has had knee probs for years, he was telling me that whilst his knees hurt when he runs slowly on tarmac, they don't when he races. I'll try anything once, so decided to follow his advice.
I tried pretty hard all the way round and had no knee twinges at all. Only very small hesitations, too, < 1 min total, so, 5 mins down on PW in 11th place is as good as I could expect, really, given my lamentable state of fitness and lack of speed. I really enjoy urban, but have shied away from it in recent years due to my back problems (and now knee problems). If I don't hurt TOO much tomorrow, though, maybe it's time to rethink that policy. Fine victory over Al :-P.
