Long at the PIG. Another somewhat disappointing race but not as bad as I originally thought after I looked at other people's results. Made an uncharacteristic mistake on the longest leg by turning at 90 degrees and running up the wrong hill, which eventually forced me to climb in a nasty re-entrant that I couldn't avoid. Execution suffered too, as I didn't stick with the plan to run around steep gullies instead of climbing in and out on some of the legs. I died after bag #16 and about 91 min of running. I forgot to eat my gel and didn't drink. Actually I didn't feel that I needed to eat even after I passed the food point and thought that I could make it without it.

My knees feel very sore as of Tue. hopefully I escaped without injuring them, but I can't tell it right now, need more time to rest and see.

WRE at the PIG. Not a bad race from a physical stand point, but am very unpleased with the technical part of it. I totally spent myself by the end of this race, it took me over a min. just to get my breathing to somewhat normal. I had no idea how I would compare physically to the rest of the field as I haven't raced in a long while. There is no doubt in my mind that I could've ran any faster. To say the least, it appears that my ability to fly up the hills has disappered over the past year or so, it has never happened before. Lack of training could certainly be blaimed, but I know that something esle is missing, something I need to find in a hurry before the US Champs.
