Orienteering 40:25 [5] 4.8 km (8:25 / km) +200m 6:58 / km

WP - Middle. Had a solid race going up until #11 despite losing bits here and there while trying to sort out what was mapped and what wasn't. Then totally got confused by an extra ridge of cliffs right above #11 and never dropped lower to investigate. Eventually did so when Clem arrived, but the race was done by then. Didn't have my best day physically and technically, thus was slightly disappointed with the outcome.

Orienteering race 18:49 [5] 2.5 km (7:32 / km) +100m 6:16 / km

WP - Sprint. Had 3 silly errors that I am not very happy with, plus legs were totally dead on the uphills. I like the fact that this was a forest sprint and wish I had another chance at it.

Running 40:00 [3] 7.0 km (5:43 / km)

With a headlamp at Eagle Rock. Loving the warm temps.

Running 2:05:00 [3] 17.0 km (7:21 / km) +500m 6:25 / km

Decided to skip organized O exercises due to recent groin injury and went for a trail run with Greg instead. We met same hikers on both side of the mountain who appeared to be surprised to see us second time.

Running 1:10:00 [3] 13.0 km (5:23 / km)

On trails at Lewis Morris. A few wet spots after yesterday's washout, but better then I expected. Finished up with 5 strides at the parking lot.

Running 1:07:00 [3]
max:179

Running at Eagle Rock with Greg in the afternoon. We warmed up pretty well and then did 8 hill repeats at ~1:03 each. Hit my max at 179 on the 4th repeat. Felt pretty good. Having company definitely helps when doing speed-work.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]

Good times at Harriman with Boris, Becky, Ali, Greg, Ross, and K. First training consisted of a control pick exercise at Hogencamp from last year mini-camp. This included getting to and from the start and finish.. Felt sluggish, otherwise orienteered well.

Orienteering 36:00 [3]

A pairs memory O on Pole Brook. I ran with Ross, who did very well on tricky legs. Definitely a fun exercise, haven't done this in ages, though in a slightly different format. Just a great day.,

Running 35:00 [3] 6.4 km (5:28 / km)

Ran around neighborhood and hilly streets. Then to the park for some pull-ups and push-ups. Still feeling rusty. Caturday is almost here though :)

Running 25:40 [3] 4.5 km (5:42 / km)

A slowish run in Verona park in a slight drizzle. Left hamstring still very sore/tweaked after the weekend, so am taking it easy for now. Don't think anything serious, but will watch it in the near future.

Orienteering race 34:39 [5] 5.5 km (6:18 / km)

Flying Pig-Day 3-Middle. Was feeling very sore before the start but managed to warm my legs well enough, Started out ok not feeling particularly slow, but boomed the #5 control for a little over a minute as I was combing the green hillside looking for a reentrant. Had to fight with a lot of green vegetation at many places on the course, and wasn't always very efficient with it, so was losing bits of time here and there. I also wasn't feeling very fresh on a few uphills and was getting tired very fast, but managed to keep the tempo till the very end. A nice run by Nikolay, way to beat a very good Norwegian runner,

Orienteering race 1:12:49 [4] 10.5 km (6:56 / km)

Flying Pig-Day 2-Long. Ran the short version as I am still not in shape to do long courses. After glancing over the course on the way to #1, I realized that there was a lot of trail running to do. Was thinking of taking it a bit easy, but once I caught up to Clem on #4, I shifted the gears and started to race. This wasn't a very technical course, but at times, still required keeping focus in the circle area. My legs got really tired towards the end so I didn't have a strong finish and was happy that the race was over when I punched the finish box.

Orienteering race 33:33 [5] 5.5 km (6:06 / km)

Flying Pig Day1-Middle. Not a bad race for me, though there is always a room for an improvement. The biggest mistake was a route choice to #1, where I lost to myself ~30 sec. There were a few other lesser ones like at #6, which took a bit standing around and head scratching before I spotted the bag down by the drain pipe. Physically never faded till the very end so I was happy with that.
