Circuit at home - decided circuits at the gym was too much running for tonight after the weekends' exertions!! 9 exercises, 80secs on/10 secs off.

Running long 3:44:00 [3] 18.4 km (12:10 / km) +1300m 9:00 / km

After a full highland breakfast, we left the fog and wind of Applecross behind and headed towards Kintail with the intention of doing a long run in the sheltered glen. Weather had changed for the better so we decided on another munro adventure:) a bit too late in the day for the sisters, so we ran up the other side to Beinn Fhada. A fairly tough start with the long climb up through the heather, legs tired but able to push on well. Once on the ridge it was a rocky few km's, which was pretty slow progress. A good fun scramble though! In places the ridge was pretty narrow with steep drops either side, so no rushing on! Once at the end of the rocky ridge it was a fast couple of km on a sudden flattish expanse of grass up to the munro summit. Starting to feel pretty tired. Glad for a nice descent, we headed down a stalker's path into the northern valley. Ended feeling quite strong in the last couple of km.
Life is good!!

Up to Torridon for the day. Blustery but not too bad so decided to head into the hills. We ran the alligin horseshoe, starting up the valley to the saddle. The wind hit but we battled on. Still clear on the first top, but as we were heading along the (sandy!) ridge towards the main peak the clag came down. Not able to see and being blown about was pretty hairy! Decided to skirt round the horns as they were a bit exposed. Quite a steep rocky descent until we hit the path at the bottom and a lovely couple of km running back down the stream.

Good warm up out to little ganavan. Short warm down back to atlantis.

220m x 12 along the esplanade. Feeling strong tonight, times on the whole got gradually faster.

Tight hamstring from the weekend- pretty sore to walk but loosens off ok to be able to run. Lots of stretching, hope it'll calm down.

Distinct lack of warm down.

Orienteering race 48:58 [4] 6.3 km (7:46 / km)

First leg of SHI relay. Started pretty quickly, feeling good. Slightly wary of being out in the front so slowed up a bit until confident in the terrain. Lost a bit of time picking a straight route through tough stuff rather than out to path. A couple of errors by others saw me out in the lead again, feeling confident but starting to tire. Feeling really tired by the end but held on to a minute lead. The Orr's did the rest of the business to finish 2nd:) great performances from all 9 of us meant complete domination-great end to a fab weekend of racing!
(Shame about the 9hour journey home!)

Warm up and a good warm down to old mining buildings so I'm not stiff for tomorrow.

Orienteering race 1:25:30 [4] 10.6 km (8:04 / km) +115m 7:39 / km

What a disaster. Started ok, but a bit distracted. Lost a huge amount of time on number 3 through being distracted. Nailed number 4, then another big mistake to 5. From then on I lost all confidence and faffed around, running near to the control then doubting myself. Good flow through last few short legs. Very disappointed:(
Luckily James made up for my awful run!

Wee run from home. Tide in, lots of birds.
Put the waterproof socks to the test - they're amazing!! Even ran through the edge of the sea and kept my feet dry!

Thought if I can't run today, I shouldn't be running SHI's, so I dragged myself out. Actually felt much better than I thought:) Absolutely freezing, good to get the blood pumping a bit, but cold feet and a frozen forehead - waterproof socks and a hat next time!

Morning run with the girls from the bunkhouse. Up Buckden Pike (got a bit lost in the fog), down the ridge a bit then I cut it short to get on the road. A good long run still. Fairly easy running again.

Run from Dunwich Cliffs. The usual Minsmere circuit with Jo - mix of forest paths, fields and beach. Then I ran from the cliffs to the pub in Middleton - picked up the pace a bit and was ready for a sizeable meal:) About half and half for the 2 parts of the run.

Tarmac hills. 5 reps from Ganavan up to the bench, birches view point. Mix of steep hill and flattish inbetween bits, good to help stretch out after short burns. 1.55, 1.55, 1.56, 1.53, 1.53.

Turn about navigating and talking about what we're doing on Creag Mhic with Briony. The sun even came out for us - sunset on Creag Mhic is beautiful:)

Running long 3:15:00 [3] 15.0 km (13:00 / km) +1000m 9:45 / km

Run with Bex from Druimavuic. Started up the track, onto the ridge and around the tops to Beinn Sgulaird (937m). Waited for James at the top and then started the descent-a steep descent dropping most of the 937m in about 1.5km. From there it was a 5km run back along the track in the valley to the car. Cloudy day, but pretty cool!
Great weekend:) Glad I rested on Thursday/Friday to make the most of it.

Training on Aird's Park. Pretty steady going, but felt good.

Afternoon training on Coille Nathais. Head to head with varying butterfly things with James, Bex and Fiona. Feeling good and really enjoyed the area. 2 small wobbles.
