Running 1:10:00 [3]

Cruise around Balmoral area - down to Chowder Bay, and out around Middle Head. Grabbed an espresso on the way thru Balmoral and jogged with back to car. Glorious day.

Went to see Tom Gleeson stand-up in the evening....laughing muscles still hurt.

Running 1:10:00 [3]

10K tempo around the Bay. Aiming for 4.10's and running as relaxed as possible. Felt pretty comfy, and sped up for the last couple of k. Nice day out.

Running 1:10:00 [3]

Cruise around Barangaroo headland, and then over to the wharves for 5k tempo. Intention was for 4 min/km, but speed up a little after the first one as I was feeling pretty good, and then stretched out a little more for the last k. 19:22 in the end - 3:59, 3:55, 3:50, 3:54, 3:41. Nice little spin.

Running 1:20:00 [3]

Morning beach run from work junket, I mean offsite, on the central coast. Headed out from the resort thingy and ran up the beach to Norah Head - my xmas stomping ground.

On the way up the beach a giant rainbow framed the angry ocean left behind by the overnight southerly; On the way back, a heavy dump of rain joined in for an all round enjoyable trot.

Running 1:00:00 [3]

Tempo on the wharves - 2km, 1km, 2km with ~3min rest, aiming for 3:30 min/km pace and reasonably close. 7:03, 3:29, 7:00

Focused on cadence. Not sure how accurate the Suunto is, but it claims my natural turnover is 82 and upp'ing that by 5 is hard to maintain. Something to work on.

Thinking of working on speed for a little while. with a mini-project to run a 5km under 18min. The easiest way would be to back off the beer and drop a couple of kg, but that seems to be against the spirit of my broader running principles.
