Orienteering 17:54 [3] 2.75 km (6:31 / km)
shoes: Kayano 26

Super fun sprint course and head-head with Nat. Highly serious competition! She got ahead of me I the first maze/loops - I found that hard to read (new glasses required), and I was chasing through the line section to 13. From there, I misread 15 as 14 so was heading to the wrong control in the set of loops... sorted that out and it worked out OK somehow, maybe I found the best drain crossing, as ended up ahead by the end of the loops. I hear we were close there but really had no idea. Next up I went to the underpass road crossing which involved running down the side of a drain. Oops! Slipped on the damp, slimy concrete slope. That put Nat off following me so she wasted a bit of time working out what to do, but ultimately had to follow cautiously. I then had trouble convincing myself to climb back up out of the drain. Luckily I found a convenient ladder! Then onto the second maze. This one I was fine (because I knew to flip the map!) and Nat could not read... I didn't really see her here as was just concentrating. Then a few longer legs to the finish. She must have been storming as finished right behind me. And after all that I MP'd. Got 8 instead of 5 in the first loops/maze and did not realise until I checked the GPS trace...

shoes: Kayano 26

Set out around the Pinnacle, hoping for and expecting to be rained on, but once again it avoided us. Really struggling today, hopefully just a bit stiff and tired from last night's run. If we do this combo again, I need to make a big effort at stretching between runs!

Quite a productive day in the end, the promised rain didn't;t really eventuate and Nat and I managed this while the girls were at gym. Superbly efficient! I struggled to keep moving today, hoping for better on a hilly run tomorrow.

Swim 15:00 [3] 0.5 km (30:00 / km)

Really struggling with a sore shoulder today. It had kept me awake during the night so probably shouldn’t have attempted this. Not sure what I’ve done.

Generally feeling better and stronger in the water if only I could use my arm. Still not convinced I am going to get enough training in to make the distance.

MTB 25:04 [3] 6.44 km (15.4 kph) +86m
shoes: Sidi MTB

Quite gravelly in places and rocks dislodged. Also quite a few sections washed smooth! Enjoyed it. Took a slightly different route through ANU, was shorter and easier I think.

MTB 31:13 [3] 6.72 km (12.9 kph) +166m
shoes: Sidi MTB

Enjoyed it again. Got bumped off coming up the steep section with large rocks all over the place, resurrected my pea gravel skills, surfing on some of the sandy/gravelly sections.

Orienteering 28:58 [3] 3.53 km (8:13 / km) +84m 7:21 / km
shoes: VJ Irock 2

Enjoyable course but the hills were hard work for me today. Some smoke around this afternoon, but it did seem to be improving while we were out and not too Problematic apart from laboured breathing...
Not really many errros, slow on a couple where I could not see the feature or flag,
Usually well concealed!
