Lost my previous entry for this. Bruce Ridge Wednesday event. Eoin thrashed me. Bad ankle twist down hill from 7-8. Was very worried about it on the day but completely forgotten until now so it must have all been in my imagination.

Really nice ride to work. Warm enough despite the fog. Quite a few kangaroos grazing near the powerlines just after crossing into BM.

Not the commute proper. Tried to be too smart for my own good, thinking I'd avoid one of the hills, but the gravel firetrail I was expecting turned out the be the concrete path and that was pretty steep! only just made it home before dark. Trying not to be dependent on lights as that would just be another excuse not to ride when really there should be none. Beautiful out!

Surprisingly enjoyable sprint. I was never a fan of driving further away this morning, but it wasn't that far really. The sprint was good fun too (in hindsight). Quite difficult reading the map and which control was which - lost my placee many times! I was caught out early with no passage through many long buildings. Once I understood that theme I took a lot of care. Was always aware of being slow reading map and moving. Only a couple of real mistakes - 3 I was on the wrong side of an impassable piece of tape - took a while to find way around..., 9 I got ahead of myself and ran into a dead end, 12 I read carefully to make sure I took the direct route to stairs top, but then spotted the control on other side of garden bed so had to run around. Was surprised the finish was only a couple more easy controls from there and tried to run hard to the finish. It was enough to overtake Linda who had been ahead the whole course, but Barbara was deservedly way further in front.
