ACT Long Champs. OK run but. far from perfect. A bit slow to 1, just making sure. Cautious the end of 3 having run past a herd of lost people 200m earlier. Low to 4, Missed 5 by misreading map, would have followed Andy to his control because it was also mine. So annoyed about that I ran to hard to 6 and was way off. Was a bit low on 7 (tired and sick of green stuff). Corrected but a bit slow as control hidden by log. Pretty clean for rest of course and running relatively hard due to Andrew S ahead and then Ben R ran past me. Andrew was particularly annoying me as I saw hime heading into 5 as I was going to 6. He got past me with my dumb mistake there.

Feeling very old having definitely been given an old ladies course today. 2 courses below W40! I below M60.

Most epic control collecting ever. 2nd control was a water drop. I decided to leave the containers and stands on a spur and come back later. Then could not find a control. Approached it 4 times and got to the same spot with no control and no evidence of any visitors. Decided that maybe it was never actually used... Then could not find the next control. Got grumpy so gave up and went to collect abandoned water containers and stands. No problems finding them despite having just dumped them in a random location. Got back to fields and Eoin was driving around looking for me. He volunteered to come and help find the AWOL controls. We got one, but the main culprit was definitely not there - he navigated to same place as me. Maybe I took so long I have a "reputation" with the new club and may be excused from future control collecting ;).

PS forgot to mention I did see 2 wombats out there wandering around with me, so not the worst afternoon ever!

Mulligans Hills! Relatively fast running to day but the hills were tough! Felt wrecked during and after. Fairly clean after running past the first control.

Some super runs today - being out early on a very quiet morning, we were amongst the first down some slopes. Then later, we waited for Excelerator to open after GS (lingo!) racing and got to enjoy that in almost perfect conditions, as long as we stayed out of the slalom tracks. Left fairly early as high temps were making it all very hard work. Had burning quads a few times on last couple of runs.

Car said 19 degrees driving along Guthega Rd, and 23 near Berridale!
