Orienteering (Rogaine) 3:29:02 [3] 10.45 km (20:00 / km) +228m 18:02 / km
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

4hr rogaine with Nat, Aoife, Ella and Katy. Great day out and the girls handled it well. It was relatively open and gentle terrain So we went further than initially planned. A beautiful day after very cold start. So cold that we spent a good 15 min playing with the ice frozen over a stream just before the finish. At 1:30pm it was still substantially frozen.

Hip is really bad, did not get much sleep last night, hopefully it's just a muscle thing.

Run 27:19 [3] 5.07 km (5:23 / km) +48m 5:08 / km
shoes: Kayano - narrow ones

Finally did another ParkRun, at Lake Gininderra. Very frosty conditions and my nose really felt it for the first km. Overall much less worse than I expected, enjoyed it and did not feel too bad until near the end. Was pleased after 2km to finally get away from a woman with a dog who kept sprinting past then walking up little hills.

Wore a long sleeve thermal and long sleeve jumper and did not get too hot. Gloves and beanie too. Took beanie off part way.

Now I have a time to try and improve on...

Busy day! Did the Orange course as did not realise there was a red option, it was enough for me anyway. Enjoyed exploring new areas close to home. Some runnable bits, learning to avoid the green! Slow on the hills!

Lunch time walk with Nadine. Car said 4 degrees at 11:45!!! (Am).

Hip annoying again after some last minute dashes in and out of school - ran after Aoife to make sure she had a gold coin for pyjama day donation - she didn't - at which point I discovered I had the grand sum of 55c in my wallet...

shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Lunchtime o at Mt Jerra (Jerrabomberra). Another lovely open map with vague (I.e. Mostly runnable) contours. Had fun. Was a bit wayward at times. Still a lot of room for improvement but I am getting there.

Run 33:11 [3] 5.38 km (6:10 / km) +152m 5:25 / km
shoes: Kayano - narrow ones

My hip had been annoying since yesterday but had calmed down by mid morning. I thought I'd try a run to see if it is ok, but not great. Started hurting at about 4 km and I just went as far as I could before walking back. No problems since! Might just try some stretching. Other than that I tried to push quite hard, might even think about doing anParkrun at some stage as a benchmark to work from...

MTB 2:13:04 [3] 30.7 km (13.8 kph) +442m
shoes: Sidi MTB

More Centenary Trail, this time with Nat and Cathy. A productive day with mostly quite easy riding, good to discover some interesting trails around Parliament House. A pity not to ride more of Red Hill, Isaacs Ridge was a great place to start, although a bit chilly not having had the sun yet, and the descent on the eastern side fun.
