Wore my hiking shoes and normal clothes, including down jacket and beanie to discourage anything too energetic. In my effort to be relaxed and leave the decision whether to start until the last minute I had not brought my compass to the event, so off I went without one. It was a useful exercise trying to keep track of myself, especially given the convoluted routes I had to take to avoid climbing in or out of any kind of ditch. A bit far in the end but glad I got out there. REALLY wish I'd been able to run my last elite course here - I think it suited me.
