Running long (road/xc) 1:58:55 [3] 18.9 km (6:18 / km)
ahr:152 max:163 shoes: inov-8 oroc 280 red - 1st pair

Very long trail route. Felt like this was going to be better than expected but unfortunately just when I thought I was going to get some rest on some easy trails, about 2/3 of the way around the going got really tough with lumpy ice. That slowed me down a bit and removed the last of my optimism. Still, lots of distance on the books and nice, sunny weather.

Reflexbana. Started brightly but chilled it out significantly in the second half. Tired from skiing/travelling.

Note

Downhill skiing, not for the first time ever. I did have a couple of goes on a dry ski slope when I was a kid.

Spent the day on the slope for kids. Crashed once on a flat bit trying to teach myself how to skate.

By the time I could confidently turn on the steep bits I was getting a bit too tired. I did however have one go on one of the bigger slopes. I got one of the turns wrong and had my second crash of the day. No damage, otherwise good fun.

Note

Cross country skiing, first time ever. Managed to get good enough around the family loop to have one go around one of the longer courses.

Conditions weren't great but got the feeling that it was a lot more effort than it should have been.
