Managed to not abuse myself too much while ill it would seem, good.

Running warm up/down (xc) 5:45 [1] 0.7 km (8:13 / km)
ahr:129 max:141

Orienteering (forest) 52:05 [3] 6.1 km (8:32 / km)
ahr:156 max:169

Multi-Day Training Day 57, benchmark terrain route 2, steady.

Aim for today, don't take it too easy, survive, don't get injured. Legs tired, good training for the multi-days.

I'm still marking this as orienteering as I still take a map with me and more importantly I still get a bit lost. I should really mark the course onto an up-to-date map I guess.

Happy to end up with a reasonable week of training regardless of being ill for most of it.

Running warm up/down (road/xc) 4:50 [2] 0.7 km (6:54 / km)
ahr:144 max:150

Static Stretching & Massage (static) 21:15 [0]

Took it really easy on the hamstring stretches tonight, massaged the lower, outside glutes several times on the way down. It went much better :)

Multi-Day Training Day 56, big trails, hard.

Another go at a Strava segment record, just like the other one I went for a couple of months ago the time didn't look too fast and just like that time it proved quite difficult. Took everything I had but managed it by 1 second! Your move Karl Junker.

Not as hot as yesterday thankfully and my HR was more normal as well. Moving physically well, especially considering these sort of bridleway trail runs are generally a session that I try to avoid. It does seem like catching the cold was a blessing in a way - gave some much needed time off for my left side problems. Just need to do some stretching tonight to keep everything loose.

Running warm up/down (road/xc) 11:00 [2] 1.6 km (6:52 / km)
ahr:146 max:152

Static Stretching & Massage (static) 19:15 [0]

I was thinking how much easier it was to stretch compared to before the cold. Then I got to the left hamstring stretch and suddenly it felt all awkward again.

The problem area seems to be right at the bottom of the glutes, on the outside of my left bum bone. No actual problem with the hamstring, I don't think.

Running (xc/terrain) 47:25 [3] 6.4 km (7:25 / km)
ahr:161 max:175

Multi-Day Training Day 55, benchmark terrain route, easy (apparently not).

El scorcho, roasting today. 32 degrees in the sun. Tried to take it really easy, not sure if I was fully over my cold. It really did feel like I was going slowly. First 15mins my HR was around 150 which made sense and then I ran up this hill and after that it just seemed to climb and climb. Well over 170 for the last 5mins. Strange.

Running warm up/down (xc/terrain) 7:35 [2] 0.8 km (9:29 / km)
ahr:157 max:165

I walked quite a lot of this trying to keep the HR down, failed.
