Orienteering (Forest) 2:25:00 [1] *****

Nick & his colleague Alexandra were at a coaching weekend so I helped them out by putting out the controls/SI units for the Farsta OLGY test course. Well, most of them - got 17 done but it was starting to get a bit dark so I sensibly left the last 4 until the morning. Lots of loose powder ranging mostly from 6 inches to a foot deep. Some deeper bits. This forest is tough enough as it is. All the best with that kiddies!

Time doesn't include hanging - about 3mins per control so was out in the freeze for over 3 hours!

Hariettes Absolut AGPU hash #602 around Kungsholmen (12). Felt a bit shit to start with - didn't get much better until the drinking started.

Orienteering race (Forest) 43:00 [4] **** 5.6 km (7:41 / km)

Enerbyberg Luffarligan with Nick & Sweden new-boy Scotia. I ran a previous Luffarligan on this area at the end of Sept last year and won in a time of 34mins - same distance as today but feeling much fresher and with a lot less snow i.e. none.

I started first then Scott then Nick. Saw Scott coming into 3 as I was on the way out but I still had a good gap. Think he overtook me on the way to 5 where my route wasn't so good and I lost contact nearing the circle. Didn't take a very good route to 7, 12 could have been better and a significant miss on 14.

I managed to stay in front of Nick but not by much - he did 41mins. Scott won in an impressive 33mins - he really is quite good at this game.

Walking (Road/XC) 42:00 [1] 4.8 km (8:45 / km)

Walk back from Nick's, tried to walk fast but was starting to feel it a bit - forgot to pack any food or drink so all exercise today on one slice of bread and a few glasses of water.

Orienteering (Forest) 55:00 [1] *****

Collecting Monday's Farsta training controls on Flatenbadet for Nick. Still feeling a bit soft after the problems with my teeth and that coupled with the snowy/windy conditions I decided to walk with full waterproofs and mountain boots. No compass, training controls sometimes buried but going really slow meant I had virtually no problems.
