Running warm up/down (XC/Terrain) 7:30 [1]
shoes: adidas swoop 2 - 2nd pair

Orienteering long (Forest) 2:04:45 [1] ***** 10.7 km (11:40 / km) +560m 9:14 / km
shoes: adidas swoop 2 - 2nd pair

Time to practice what I preach... but there are no decent mountain areas around Stockholm. So I went to the most nails forest I could think of and ran the Summer Series A course (13th July) backwards from 3.

Usual pack (that's every session this week with added 7.3kg), almost zero effort - just enjoying myself. Nav good as it should be at that speed when you know where most of the controls are. Just let my natural ability of running through every bit of sh1t possible do the work. Drowned a lot. Got shocked by an electric fence, on my inner thigh (that was far too close :-S).

Running (Road/XC) 40:15 [3] 8.3 km (4:51 / km)

Steady run with usual pack but in contrast to recently mostly on wide well-surfaced trails. Nice to know I can actually run fairly fast with a heavy pack if I take away a lot of the climb, all of the rocks/roots and most of the distance. Felt surprisingly good!

1) 15:30 - Out
2) 09:45 - Loop
3) 15:00 - Back

Running long (Road/XC/Terrain) 2:10:30 [2] 21.1 km (6:11 / km)

Did it! Well, sort of. Don't know why am having so much of a problem to do a half-marathon, even with a heavy pack (7.3kg), lots of climb (about 500m) and on well varied terrain - it's not as if I'm going that fast. Maybe I need more rest after the O-Ringen. Anyway felt much better in my attempt today even after the killer split 3 (or split 2 cos I'm running the route from Skarpnack now, or split 3 if you count the out - confusing eh?) but around the 85mins mark developed a stitch that I just couldn't run through. So I stopped for 10mins, had a drink, got the stones out from my shoes and considered walking back but still felt good... so I finished it!

11:30 (2.1km) - Out
27:15 (4.5km) - 2
28:30 (4.4km) - 3
25:45 (4.3km) - 4 (16:00+09:45 10mins rest in between)
25:15 (3.8km) - 1
12:15 (2.1km) - Back

Feel really tired now, might have to go to bed.

Static Stretching & Massage (Static) 13:00 [0]

Well tight in all upper leg muscles, esp quads and adductors. Hardly surprising - really should have done 15mins of this after both sessions Mon/Tue.

Core Stability (Floor/Standing) 30:00 [1]

7*13 ff. Whoopy-do, managed to find the motivation from somewhere to do 3/4 of a workout instead of the usual 1/2. You never know, I might start doing it twice a week by say 2012 sometime.

Running long (Road/XC/Terrain) 1:34:00 [2] 15.2 km (6:11 / km)

So onto the fourth attempt at doing a half-marathon on Nacka trails (since starting OMM training) with a heavy pack (same as yesterday). Failed again :( Started to struggle after 70mins so just ran back from there. No point completely ruining myself as have lots of training planned this week. Pretty sore on the outsides and insides of the thighs from yesterday - obv did some good.

12:30 (2.1km) - Out
27:45 (4.5km) - 2
28:45 (4.4km) - 3
25:00 (4.2km) - Back
