Running (Road/XC) 46:15 [2] 6.6 km (7:00 / km)

More OMM training - long Nacka Reserve route (new version). With a friend from hashing. Me approx 9kg pack, her no pack. Unfotunately we had to cut it well short because she developed major stomach cramps. Honestly, you women and your bloody tummies ;-)

14:15 (2.1km) - Out
32:00 (4.5km) - 2

Last ran: http://www.attackpoint.org/viewlog.jsp/user_3361/p...

Running (Road/XC) 29:30 [3] 5.7 km (5:11 / km)

Ran back on my own minus pack to get the car.

Running warm up/down (XC) 17:30 [1] * 2.6 km (6:44 / km)
shoes: adidas swoop 2 - 2nd pair

Orienteering intervals (Forest) 29:30 [4] ***** 4.3 km (6:52 / km)
shoes: adidas swoop 2 - 2nd pair

Re-ran the first 10 controls of a Nacka Reserve course I know quite well 1 control at a time - 1min recovery after each. With Nick. Almost as hard as possible. Annoyingly messed up number 8 (guess 90secs) and found Nick waiting for me when I got there.

Running (Terrain) 13:30 [2] 1.6 km (8:26 / km)
shoes: adidas swoop 2 - 2nd pair

Jogged the last 4 controls with Nick navigating. Nice dip in the lake afterwards.

Adding the two times together equals 43mins i.e. dead on what I ran the course in at the actual race and I was virtually clean back then - certainly didn't lose 90secs. So happy that I was running the intervals significantly faster than my usual race pace. Lungs were burning as well (which is a good thing I think) - I def need more of this sort of training to increase VO2 max.

Rest day again tomorrow ready for the big one this week on Sunday... more OMM training.

Static Stretching & Massage (Static) 13:00 [0]

Well stiff - need to do this much more regularly. Saying that I haven't had any lower back/glute issues for quite a while now. However I'm not sure the problems have gone away... I guess just less evident because my weight is quite low (for me) at the moment.

Core Stability (Floor/Standing) 20:00 [1]

5*12 ff. Need to start doing full workouts soon. Not looking forward to it - so boring and such hard work esp what with the heat. Feel great afterwards though.

Running (Road/XC) 29:15 [2] 5.8 km (5:03 / km)

Ran to the hash tonight as it was fairly close by. Only problem was my total map memory failure which added on a couple of unwanted km's!

Running (Road/XC) 55:15 [2] 9.5 km (5:49 / km)

Muki Underground hash #824 from Sandsborg (29). Spent the whole time chatting with Nick who has sort of (but not really) recovered from his knee woe. As neither of us particularly wanted to tire ourselves out completely we walked back from the beer/swim stop which took about 30mins. Then after the circle and a pizza I walked home which took about 40mins.

So far in a week where I'm supposed to be chilling out a bit I've done 80mins of o-ing, 85mins of running and 90mins of walking - not really going to plan. Rest day again tomorrow.

Orienteering race (Forest) 1:18:30 [2] ***** 7.0 km (11:13 / km) +375m 8:51 / km
shoes: adidas swoop 2 - 2nd pair

Another day, another orienteering race, another load of huge horse flies and other various shit sitters circling my head. What do they want... blood? Well, yeah I guess they do.

Sommarserien on the same area as the Farsta test course. So really tuff and techincal. So one would expect the length of the A course to be slightly shorter than usual but no... over 10km. Now the goal this week is not to get too tired but gave it a go anyway. Started out fast which quickly changed to steady which changed to easy not long after that. Just didn't feel fresh at all. Was sensible about it and called it a day at 12/18.

The only big mistake I made today was convincing myself I had made a parallel error when actually I'd got it bang on. Oops. Apart from that just a bit scrappy in the circle but then I sometimes didn't have all the information - the over-print being in dark blue and wide enough to completely cover crags let alone index contours.

Note

Thought I might measure what I did today to see if I'm a softlad - it would appear not (well at least until the results go up and some super fast kiddie has done 7mins/km or summit). I measured the climb straight line but didn't include what was obviously avoidable. Everything else... some was avoidable by going some way off the line, some was avoidable only by adding on like 0.5km per leg.

Whole course was 10.7km & 560m. Take my word for it if I had counted every contour on the line it would have been considerably more. Someone told me Stockholm was pretty flat when I first came here... hmm.

Edit - ok so not quite as bad, it was only 4m contours.
