Can't beat endlessly running up and down muddy hills for training... 6 lengths of my Canford Heath hills route. All steady - went to do the last length at threshold but it was getting a bit dark and had to more or less walk down a couple of steep bits right at the end to be safe. Felt really fresh in the legs today esp on the ups.

Canford Heath 10 miler in peach weather... not a lot. Felt tired up the hills to start with but it got better. Mostly steady but worked it up over the last couple of splits. I don't think I have ever run this particular route that fast b4 but it was never one of my favourites.

1) 09:20
2) 19:30
3) 17:20
4) 16:10
5) 12:45

Probably gained some time on split 2 - took a diff route to avoid some gorse - the bramble infested FOD has turned me proper softlad. Probs more than cancelled out by a couple of incidents later on - one involving a new gate being built and the other involving big animals.

Cows have grazed on the heath for several years now so not an uncommon situation for me. As I ran up to about 4 of them blocking the path I did my usual "Moo!" noises which didn't seem to work today. As I got closer I quickly realised that 2 of them were bulls. Show no fear I thought so I just carried on running fast and mooing at them at which point one of the bulls mounted one of the cows and... classic. Now I have been known to attract a few cows in my time so it is understandable how the bull might have seen me as some sort of rival. Anyway guess who ended up running through the gorse.
