Walking long (XC) 2:06:45 [1] 12.64 km (10:02 / km) +705m 7:50 / km

Real low intensity today cos my throat got sore thru the night - wanted to do a session just in case I'm out for a few days ill but didn't want to push it and make the recovery longer. Session went like this...

10:00 to ski slope (1.13km)

3*3.34km & 235m walking up/down various routes...
1) 36:00
2) 34:30
3) 33:30

12:45 to System Blag It (1.49km)

...with wrist/ankle weights and the same pack as Monday. Put a bit more effort in on the 2nd and 3rd lap when I realised I might not make the offy in time. Was proper dark by the end - nice views out over Stockholm from the top, felt good. Got some funny looks (dunno why, temp was at least 1 degree) once I got to the shopping centre in my shorts, t-shirts, mountain boots and wrist/ankle weights. Some people probs thought... 'nutter'. Most people probs thought... 'twat'.

I have finally put some tunes on my phone and the two albums (Crowd Control - DJ X-Rated and Mr Smith - LL Cool J) lasted perfectly. 47 tracks, the first one started b4 I left and the last one was just finishing as I got in - nice.

Note
(sick)

Yup, def ill.

Running warm up/down (XC) 3:00 [2]
shoes: vj supra

Orienteering race (Forest) 42:33 [4] ***** 5.4 km (7:53 / km)
spiked:4/13c shoes: vj supra

Nya Sticklinge-Grönsta. 2/34 (David Hedberg won in 39:15). Finally got out onto Lidingö and GG was right it is really nice - beautiful grassy/mossy forest mostly runnable with some nice technical bits as usual. No repeat of last week unfortunately what with big mistakes at 3 and 10, medium ones at 1, 4 and 7 and small route choice errors on 5, 6, 8 and 11. I'm guessing over 5mins time loss in total. Was looking at the map too quickly today and amongst other things made little path wrong turns multiple times. Felt physically awesome once again though and the few controls I got bang on were fastest (or very close to) splits. Nice to have a few M35/40's to race against for a change in what are effectively events for retired old boys.

Core Stability (Floor/Standing) 37:45 [1]

8 times thru... as many press ups as poss, 1min balancing, 20 * core exercise (different each time) then another 1min balancing. Again with wrist and ankle weights. Did 24 14 12 10 10 10 8 6 press ups so 94 in total :)

Running (Road/XC) 37:00 [3]
shoes: nike air tri-d kutu

Underground hash (15). Still using saturated fat power from my earlier junk food frenzy. Felt great again - running feels sooo good at the moment. Is it the core work? Glutes getting stronger - better hip position - better running economy?

Could kneel all the way down without too much pain this morning for the first time since tree stumping my leg and have no complaints from that area during or after running now :) Felt my achilles tugging very slightly so time for more calf massage and stretching.

Walking hills (XC) 55:41 [2] 2.86 km (19:28 / km) +1040m 6:55 / km

13*0.44km & 80m. Probably a very bad idea considering I still can't kneel down on my left leg or properly stretch my left quad but hey with less than 3 weeks to go to the OMM thought better get the body used to some steep ups and downs. Even when living in B'mouth this only meant a mere 4.5 hour drive up to N Wales or the Lakes - things are a little different now so I have to make do with the ski slope.

Didn't want to do too much to start with and wake up 2moz not being able to get out of bed but wanted to crack out at least 1000m climb. I guess I didn't put a lot of effort in looking at the last rep where I pretty much walked as fast as poss - def felt tired though.

Wore my wrist and ankle weights plus a pack with various stuff in totalling around 6.5kg I reckon so heavy enough for sure. Ups..
