Orienteering race (Forest) 1:29:00 [4] **** 12.8 km (6:57 / km)
spiked:25/30c shoes: adidas swoop 2 - 1st pair

Tisvilde Hegn vest. Still didn't feel great this morning waking up but once running found I had a little more power on tap. Missed the mini mass start by half an hour - too much spectating (I f-ing love relay events) with the other BUOT peeps. Made no difference tho - take 30mins off our final time and it still wouldn't have moved us up one position to 3rd from last unless I was good at running with others... which I am most defo not. Medium miss on 13 and 16, small miss on 18 and then totally ruined my run losing several minutes on 23. A pretty awful weekend in terms of my performance but I don't care - I now live in Stockholm.

Orienteering race (Forest) 1:33:59 [4] **** 13.6 km (6:55 / km)
spiked:20/25c shoes: adidas swoop 2 - 1st pair

Tisvilde Hegn ost. So a normal amount of sleep but still woke up feeling like just gone to bed. Started bright and didn't really lose much time on the first couple of controls where the planner unfortunately insisted on us navigating by indistinct veg changes. A bit of hesitation at number 1 and led the fast guy that started 1min behind right into it. Kept up with him until 2 feeling ok but after the hill up to 3 (found it for the lost fast guy again) lost top speed and had to settle for steady for the rest of the course. Small miss at 6, hesistation at 12 and small misses at 20/24 (more indistinct veg pap) totalled approx 2mins of errors - tempted to feel happy with that but then navigating is much easier when you're going slower.

Orienteering race (Forest) 50:38 [2] *** 4.3 km (11:47 / km)
spiked:6/14c slept:3.0 shoes: adidas swoop 2 - 1st pair

Valby Hegn. 2nite was a bit of a joke really. Forgot to borrow a decent head torch or get a new batt for me halogen petzl so zipka it was - LOL. Started jogging but couldn't even see my feet properly - did break into a run once or twice when I overtook fat women but only for as long as it took to run past their beams. Got well lost on multiple controls - some mistakes down to the torch others down to me being wank at orienteering. Maybe some of it was down to the lack of sleep and 13 hours of driving having fried most of what was between my ears. Even tried to get DSQ by punching the wrong finish control but the relay run-in official noticed my lack of bib and made me go back the bar steward.

Canford Heath. Original short route from my teen years - PB is 18:39 from 11/12/97. Once around to warm up, once around to warm down...

1) 23:20
3) 23:50

With...

Running intervals (XC) 16:31 [5] 4.3 km (3:50 / km) +75m 3:32 / km
shoes: nike air tri-d kutu

8.25*2:00/2:00r i.e. once around in the middle. Felt a bit more like putting some effort in today.
