Orienteering race (Forest/Parkland) 1:32:40 [4] *** 11.7 km (7:55 / km) +350m 6:53 / km
spiked:18/27c

Eridge. Was quite tired today and never got going. Nick came past me at like twice the speed and must've wondered how I got anywhere near him in Belgium. Made a lot of mistakes as well but mostly silly or maybe not even my fault - like 6 what was going on there on the map? Or 22 sea of bracken pit bingo style - the only features to nav by were thickets that weren't really mapped that well. Felt in control on the more technical section - fastest split on 11 and comfortably second behind Nick on 12/13. 14 I binned drifting North with no real plan. 16 was Hartley's leg with Alan taking it from me by 1 second - a proper downhill blast centering in on the feature using some well mapped veg.

Ulwell, Isle of Purbeck. After returning to a country that actually has some hills thought better do some. Reps up the same hill as b4 Xmas - figured just take it easy today. 10*0.77km & 100m...

Running long (Road/XC/Terrain) 1:49:00 [3] 20.0 km (5:27 / km)

Tunbridge Wells, somewhere. Easy to steady long morning run with Nick. This was fairly comfortable as had a lot of rest recently plus Nick isn't very fit.

Orienteering race (Forest) 44:09 [4] *** 6.7 km (6:35 / km)
spiked:11/21c

Schrikkelberg. WRE middle distance. Once again a very S of England type forest but with this time with some elavation and some really detailed areas of pits/depressions. Tried to run really fast today to keep Nick behind me but lost time on 2, 4, 6 all wrong route-choice decisions. Then ignored a not totally obv path route to 11 and then took a path route to 12 that shudda ignored and Nick was away. Threw away more time esp on 14, 18 and 19. Bad run - 4mins total time loss. Tired now.

Orienteering race (Forest/Heath) 1:01:13 [4] **** 8.4 km (7:17 / km)
spiked:13/27c

Klein Schietveld. Very scrappy run in a very crappy area. Overmapped, badly mapped and very rough (the terrain, not the map - that was fairly smooth in a bag) in places. Still having lived in the S of England for some time Nick and I are used to this sorta sh1t and got our best sluts of the week, but then maybe some good runners were resting for the WRE tomorrow. Made a biggie at 22 and a medium at 15 but loadsa small misses approx 5-6mins total time loss.
