Whew, one of (if not the) longest training runs I've ever done. Hot, humid, but not quite as humid as yesterday. First time doing 2 x Crum Long Laps. Excellent.
Nikes worked great, as expected. I think these are the ones ... although the NBs have super potential as well. I will continue to trade them off on runs and see how they feel over the next couple of months. Both are thin, which is generally super except when pointy rock or root hits you right in the arch. I may have to head out to the run location for the Megatransect (State College, PA) and check it out ... I know it's rocky, but if they're biggish rocks it's not a problem. The worst would be 2" < lots of rocks < 6" ... then I would start training in my Inov-8s, which have a 'shield', which works great, but they're heavier (9.3oz :)) shoes, and less flexible (the shield), more like a cleat, and quite 'cleaty' with big lumpy cleats, totally unnecessary on trails, and frankly a hazard for me once I start 'shuffling'.
More experimenting with form and pace ... felt pretty sluggish from the 7 the day before, and the icky heat, and I forgot my water bottle ... but not unexpectedly sluggish, which was a great thing.
Just need to top off my mileage (and a hint of speed) mid-week to keep things really headed in the right direction.

Cemetery run. Good to get out ... went yesterday but ended up forgetting my shirt and shorts. :) Warm but not hot today, and a little cool breeze. Nice.
